The combination of a small size, lovely appointments and an all star staff gives the Modigliani great charm and enables guests quickly to feel welcome and at home. Its location on a quiet street near the Borghese Gardens makes it possible to walk to many attractions or gain easy access to public transportation. And its rates are quite reasonable by Rome's standards. Many Roman hotels are bigger, but none that my wife and I have stayed at appeals to us as much as the Modigliani.

A little challenge to find but what a great location! To traverse Rome and still get a good night's sleep (the convent across the patio does not throw loud parties!) spoiled us. We were assisted with train travel and a visit to the Vatican. Very professional staff.

Wonderful hotel! Welcoming staff. We arrived in the morning and they gladly held our bags while we went exploring in Rome. When we got back, our bags had already been delivered to our room. The room was small and lovely. Bathroom was super clean, roomy, and stylish, plenty of ammenities. Room is cozy, simple, quaint. Window view was nice. The breakfast is wonderful! Coffee bar, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, meats, cheeses. Exceeded expectations. Very close to everything! Will definitely stay again. Very satisfied, good value for location and time of year.

Hotel has a sense of playfulness + humour that runs through all the staff - they were all helpful and interested in what the guests are planning and how they got on on a day's visit in Rome. Handy to get places - no hesitation in recommending Hotel Modigiani.

Following a recommendation in, 'Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay - Italy', we booked a room direct with the hotel via email.
The hotel was excellently located. The hotel staff were very helpful, polite and welcoming for the entirety of the stay.
The hotel owners produce a light hearted leaflet detailing, among other things, local restuarant recommendations which proved to be useful and accurate.
We had a standard double with a balcony (enough for two to sit out on) and ensuite shower room. It was adequate but a little cramped at times.
The hotel did not have wi-fi.

Stayed: May 2008
