“Best place to stay in Rome if you have a car”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2011

We have stayed in this hotel for two nights and were very happy with rooms, service and location of this place. If you don't have a car it's not in the most touristy area of the city and not easy to walk to those areas but if you do have a car, I highly recommend you to stay ay this hotel. Its in a very charming neighbourhood which is very pretty and quiet. It's really easy to park your car in front or at the allocated car park of the hotel. Breakfast is pretty good and goes until 11 pm, service very good and staff is friendly but more so very kind and respectful. Rooms are spacious, well decorated and also very airy with high ceilings and big windows with most charming views. Stay there, you won't be disappointed.

We recently stayed at this hotel in November 2011 for 3 nights. It was the perect base or a visit to Rome - we walked everywhere rom here. It is an oasis of peace in this busy city. We were lucky with the weather - 4 days of 18C and sunny blue skies. With the windows open from our double room overlooking the square, all we could hear were church bells. The rooms were beautiully decorated in an interesting way. Breakfast was in a beautiul room. There was a lounge area to sit and have a drink or coffee and recharge our batteries at the end of the day. Location is great - easy to walk to Circus Maximus and Collisseeum and Forum. A perfecbase or a weekend in this wonderful city. Adjacent to hotels are narroiw streets with no traffic, beautiul churches and old pallazzos with ochre walled gardens, and lemon trees hanging over into the street. A real contrast to the busy streets in the main areas. Would thoroughly recommend or a luxrious base in a peaceul location within easy walking distance of main tourist sites, exceptthe Vatican. We would go back!

We spent 3 nights in this delightful hotel in a very quiet and beautiful location. We had a room with a balcony which was lovely to sit and watch the locals passing by. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable and quite spacious. The staff were very helpful with enquiries and directions and one evening we had dinner at a restaurant just a short walk which was connected to the hotel. The breakfast was inviting and in a lovely setting. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a very pleasant experience.

Room Tip: A room with with a balcony is really nice.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay here in early October, 2011. Hotel is one of 3 properties closely located on the Aventine Hill---great location. One of the sister hotels has a fine dinner restaurant. Extended continental breakfasts here were very adequate. Rooms finely appointed and staff was continually attentive and helpful.
Location is a very quiet well-to-do area (several consulates within a block), yet a short walk down the hill to a main street with multiple good restaurant choices and gelato. That main street has several bus lines including #23 that goes right to the Vatican. Location is an easy one-mile walk (or two Metro stops) to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Great views of the Tiber and the Vatican from the end of the street. Also, the "keyhole", is at the street's end---read about this before the trip---where you can view St. Peter's Basilica through this hole in what is the property of the displaced Knights of Malta. Popular attraction as there were always a dozen or so people waiting their turn to look.
Hotel offers deals on their website, so was actually very reasonable. Tea and snacks offered every day at 4 PM. Outside eating area in back also--some tables under cover--for breakfast, 4 PM drinks, or in the evening. Would definitely stay here again.
Bob and Janet

Room Tip: Did not see other rooms but it is such a quiet and beautiful area, I doubt there is a "bad"...

I searched hard to find a hotel that just outside of the restricted area for cars. I found this lovely hotel, and it could not have been more perfect. A short walk from Circus Maximus, they had offsite parking that was very convenient. Rooms could not have been prettier. Garden in the rear for breakfast. The only warning is that it is difficult to fine. Website for hotel is not very good on this point. Its in a residential area, and many of the roads are one way, which means you see it, but can't get to it. Do a bit more homework than I did, and you will be fine.
