“Amazing, warm, friendly, cosy pensione in Rome”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We can't rate this pensione highly enough! The staff were welcoming and friendly and always ready to help. The room was amazing even though it wasn't the one we booked! Sadly we got 'bumped' due to a last minute reservation that required the wheelchair accessible room. This was in no way their fault but they were very apologetic and gave us a lovely bottle of Prosecco to make up for it! The room we had was beautiful, full of modern but contemporary touches. Despite being on Via Nazionale it was quiet and peaceful. Excellently located for all your tourist needs with recommendations on local restaurants and bars always available. Very reasonable price for such an beautiful little pensione. We will be going back as soon as we can! :)

Room Tip: All the rooms appeared nice!

We stayed for 4 days, as one of the first guests, the painting was still wet on the walls, and everything was brand new.
It was fantastic.

Beautiful, cozy, quiet, with nice landlady Nadia, who helps you with tips about restaurants, must-see things, and everything about Rome.

If I 'll travel to Rome ever again or any of my friends would like to stay there - I will definitely recommend Amaranto Romano!

We rented a car and spent 10 days touring Italy. Our first two nights were with Nadia at the Amaranto Romano. From the 9 different hotels we stayed in, Amaranto Romano was absolutely one of the best places we stayed during our trip. The rooms are meticulously clean, stylish and modern. It was refreshing to grab breakfast each morning around the corner on the streets of Rome. It was an easy walk to the Colosseum and other popular tourist attractions in Rome. It was extraordinarily convenient to get to the subway (less than a 2 minute walk), which was a straight shot to the Vatican. But, the greatest asset of the Amaranto Romano is Nadia. She is warm, inviting, thoughtful and incredibly kind. Our trip included visits to the less-visited cities in Umbria (Spoleto, Gubbio, Urbino) and the Dolomites mountain range. Nadia went out of her way to print out maps and highlight suggested routes for our travels. We didn't have a GPS, but with Nadia's direction, were able to tour all of these places and more. If you are looking for a place to stay that has a bit of everything (comfort, style, cleanliness and hospitality), this is the place to stay.

The Amaranto Romano is a calm oasis in a bustling city. It is in the inner part of an ancient building, and our room faced an inner court and was quiet and peaceful and had wooden shatters, so we could sleep very well. The bed was very comfortable and the beddings white and clean. The room was clean and modern, as well as the bathroom, that had a rain shower head and a very good water flow. There was free Wi-Fi, computer access, and a corner with free snacks, cookies, fruits, tea and coffee, which was a great pampering after returning very fatigue from a whole day touring.
The location is marvelous - it is within walking distance of excellent shopping and eating and all the tourist attractions. We went everywhere by foot, even to the Maxxi (it was on the day of transportation strike).
We felt very much at home staying at Amaranto Romano thanks to Nadia, the owner, who was very friendly and helpful. You can always count on her to answer your questions, to give you tips regarding eating, shopping and transit, to make reservations, and to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and everything with a smile.
Our flight home was a late flight. When we asked her to keep our luggage, Nadia offered to keep our room until leaving to the airport, as it was not ordered in that day! Where else can you find such a nice hostess?
We definitely will return to Amaranto Romano in our next visit to Rome.

There are so many good things to say about the Amaranto Romano, so I thought it would be the best to start with the bottom line:

This place is wonderful, it made us feel like home and definitely made our trip to Rome much much better !

Right away from our arrival everything was great. The place is 5 minutes walk from the Termini Station. When we arrived to the place, Nadia was waiting to us downstairs and welcomed us, she took us to our room and checked that everything was fine. It was so nice and welcoming, gave us a really good feeling.
We liked the classic elevator and the little fountain at the first floor (Ask Nadia about the fountain...) and the fact that the place is super secured (Fifth floor inside a closed building) is a good extra.

The room itself, as you can see in the pictures is SUPER clean and everything is new, the bed is very comfortable and big, we slept great after our long walks in Rome. The bathroom is spotless and the shower is a lot of fun with a huge shower head, absolutely marvelous ! Each room has also a free WIFI.

The little lobby near the reception is a big extra, you have everything you need for a little afternoon break, and everything is for free - a fridge with cold water (And even some wines !), coffee & tea, some tasty snacks, cakes and fruits ! You also have a computer with Internet and a printer connected to it - very helpful for printing the orders for the different touristic attractions.

The breakfast is at a bar in the same building, It is a big fun as it is a totally local place, the breakfast includes an orange juice, croissant, coffee and a little toast with butter and jam, it is a lot of fun eating in a local place seeing the local residents drinking their coffee and talking Italian. We also recommend ordering the 1.5EURO sandwiches, which are super tasty !

The last thing, but for us, the best one, is Nadia herself. Nadia helped us so much and always with a smile, she recommended about good places to eat (Which was really cool and local places !), helped us to place order to the tourist attractions , told us where to go in the evening, what to do and to avoid. In our last day, she arranged us a taxi back to the Airport, kept our belongings and even gave us an interesting and original idea about what to do in that day.

You can feel she loves her place and really love to help others.

We truly have a new friend in Rome and we will definitely be back in Rome and for sure it will be in the Amaranto Romano !
