Stayed here in 2006 on my first trip to Rome. The hotel was just coming back after a big downturn in business due to economic and social concerns at the time. I loved it. The inside entrance was grand and met every expectation of a romance novel entrance. The staff spoke English well (they primarily catered to English speaking tourists) and our tour group was very well catered to. Loved, loved the back patio! The breakfast was great. Look for the honey from the hotel's hives. Our room was fine, except everyone in the group had to ask the maid how to keep the lights on (keep the key in the slot). Only downside, no one could figure out how to keep the water in the shower and not on the floor-and this with a tour group with at least 12 advanced degrees!

lovely hotel and really great staff that were always there to help and spoke perfect english! fabulous breakfast with loads of choice between hot and cold food. Really good location, nice walk to Vatican although its not a very quick one, took about 15 minutes to get to the vatican walls. Not too far down the road from the Vatican there is a great night life with a market and live bands etc, well worth a visit!!! Metro stop right round the corner which can connect you to pretty much anywhere in the city. The bar was quite expensive and fairly dead so we never had a drink there but if you can afford it its nice and there is a nice outside terrace to have a drink on. The room wasn't very big but had everything we could have needed for a short stay, comfy bed, TV etc. Really expensive mini bar!!! but overall we would deffinitely recommend it to anyone and would love to go and stay again, much better than we were expecting for the price!

This is an Old World type hotel. Located in a residential area. Walking distance to downtown shopping. Very close to Vatican. Our room had a huge updated bathroom. Probably the most charming was a patio in the rear of the hotel. Plenty of tables, chairs and plants. Very good free breakfast.

beautiful hotel, the friendliness, cleanliness, price is not expensive, large rooms make this hotel one of the best where we've been up to now, the area is in central london, excellent breakfast and room service, also good was the advice we have received to try the restaurant Porto di Ripetta
