We have just returned from a five night visit to the Hotel Napoleon. The hotel is excellent in every way. Spotlesssly clean, peaceful for a good night's sleep , very helpful staff and an amazing breakfast to suit all tastes. Situated a few steps from the Metro for speedy visits around the city .

Room Tip: Our classic 3rd floor room faced onto an inside courtyard and was very quiet.

We were there for the Italy vs England 6 Nations match, spending 4 nights at the hotel with sub zero temperatures and snow & sleet in Rome, but more than compensated for by the warmth of the hotel. Special mention has to be made of the Managing Director Roberto who made sure that every guest felt special. Really mention worthy is what was dubbed 'wine tasting' one friday evening, turned out to be endless supply of free wine and hors d'oeuvres which lasted well over an hour. In spite of being a strong Italian rugby supporter himself, Roberto made sure that we had free vistory beers waiting for us after the match. Well done Roberto, we'll see you again!

I booked this Hotel for a surprise Valentine trip for my wife and family and it certainly exceeded our expectations. I had corresponded with the staff prior to booking and they helpfully answered all my questions. The pick up and drop off service from/to the Airport was faultless. The location, which was not in the centre was perfect for us, especially as the entrance to metro was literally a few feet away, but there was no hustle and bustle from crowds. It is also close enough to the centre and we walked (with two kids) to and from the Colosseum and the centre of town. The location also helped with shopping as we were not charged 'tourist' prices by the local vendors.

The staff were pleasant, helpful and accommodated all of our requests. The 1st floor lounge had Wi-Fi access and was comfortably equipped. We ate in the Hotel restaurant twice and the food was excellent and well priced. With two pre-teenage kids, we stayed in two adjoining rooms with an interconnecting door and this certainly helped make the stay more comfortable.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an excellent, comfortable stay away from the crowds but close enough to key sites.

Just spent the half term in Rome with the family and stayed at the Hotel Napoleon. Communication with the hotel via email was prompt and efficient - and a nice touch was an email just prior to our visit 'looking forward to our arrival' and just after our stay 'thanking us for our visit'. We requested two rooms together and were given inter-connecting which was even better. It was a great 5 days made the more memorable by the friendliness, courtesy and helpfulness of the staff at the hotel and in particular the Concierges. We requested and received promptly different pillows, we were given great recommendations for places to eat, shown the best places to shop and calls were made on our behalf to check information and availability about things we wanted to do and see. The location was great - a short walk from Termini, 15 minutes to the Colosseum, and easy walking to anywhere else you'd want to visit! The metro was literally outside the door and only a 20 minute ride to Vatican city. The hotel itself was comfortable, spacious and well laid out. The rooms were clean and tidy and nicely presented, not massive but certainly large enough if you are spending most of your time sightseeing. Breakfast catered to everyone's taste and though we did not eat in the restaurant the menu looked good and reasonably priced. We had snacks in the small bar a couple of times - toasted sandwiches were lovely and thanks for serving us at 10.45pm!!
All in all a very positive experience.

We were a group of 12 (6 couples) in Rome for the England - Italy Rugby.
Made the reservation via the hotel's user friendly website. 1 km away from the Colloseum and just feet away from the metro...The hotel organised the airport transfer for 10 euros each. Pleasant welcome on arrival. ..I am a travel agent and reasonably well travelled and have a fair idea what to expect in an older European city hotel... Generally rooms are on the smaller side and more often than not without a view... Our "Classic" rooms whilst not huge (but equally not a bad size) were nicely furnished with the my "requested" bath tub (nice bathroom) and all very clean. After the first night a few of us asked for extra pillows, no problem, that evening they were in our rooms. Lovely large public lounge with enough room to accommodate our large group and another Irish party that were also staying. Breakfast good and is served to a reasonable time... A great idea is the Friday night wine tasting. The owner and general manager Roberto, as a Rugby fan thanked all of the English for coming to the Rugby and of course much banter followed!!! On our return he had instructed the barman to furnish us with a few much appreciated complimentary drinks. The Napoleon is a family run hotel whose staff and owners make it what it is..Nothing is too much trouble. The longer you stay, the more you appreciate it!...This is not a large hotel chain but a pleasant family run hotel and all the better for it...Personally I would not hesitate to return!
