Just stayed for 2 nights with our 4 month old son. Staff were very friendly. Room we had was the largest they had and was very spacious and clean. There was a bit of road noise but I guess this to be expected in Rome. We were made to feel very welcome and would stay again.

Bathroom and kitchen was also all very clean and recently refurbished.

We stayed a weekend in May and fell in love with our hosts! They are so lovely and nice and we slept great in a really nice comfy bed! The B&B is extremely clean, recently completely renovated and is an outstanding value for the price in ROME! The breakfast was lovely and there was everything you could imagine to choose from. The metro stop is only a few minute walk from the front door and makes it super easy to get around Rome cheap! We bought a day pass for the Metro and you can use this also for the bus which the 46 stops very close to the door and can take you all the way to Piazza Venenzia! Give this one a serious look on your trip to Rome! We are going back this weekend for another get away in Rome. It will not be our last time there! Grazie per tutti Antonio e Simona! Karen -American living in Sardegna! :-)

If you don't mind traveling by buses and the metro to your destinations in Rome, then look no further - this is the spot for you. Marco Polo is a delightful little pension, with large, cozy and clean room with a terrific scent just all over the place. I don't know how Simona does it but the place just smelled incredible :) Again, my only reservation would be that Rome, as in Centro Storico, Coloseum, Trastevere and the rest of the gang are only reacheable by bus or metro. The pension is located in a sleepy neighborhood without any nightlife attractions to speak about, so take that into your consideration. The Vatican is rather close though.

I have heard a lot of horror stories about accommodation in Rome which can be quite small and dirty, while also expensive. However, the Marco Polo B&B is extremely clean while we had a spacious double room as well. It is also not as expensive since it is not situated in the busy Rome centre. It is walking distance from the Vatican City which is great and there are a few nice and cheaper restaurants nearby. The metro is not far so it is not a problem to get to the centre of Rome fast. The only downsides for us were the fact that there were no carpets in the rooms so it remained kind of cold, but since you are out and about most of the time it is not really a problem. The breakfast is also not great ... everything is very sweet (although we found that this was an Italy thing) and there is no kettle. So if you want boiled water, you have to use the stove. The staff are however very helpful. If we go to Rome again, I would definitely book this B&B again ... it is definitely value for money!
