This is essentially a tourist trap on a picturesque thoroughfare. the food is overpriced and average, they claim not to take credit cards although they have a machine on the bar ( for locals?) and despite 10% service being added to the bill, they then say service isn't included and hover over you for a tip! They do have shady outdoor seating on the street though, which is nice on a hot day, and they serve all afternoon, unlike other restaurants in the area who close at 14.30. I'm sure there are much better lunch stops nearby.

We had my birthday dinner here and loved the food. The waiter who served insisted on recommending what we eat and we're glad he did. We had the veal and the risotto, both excellent. And Trastevere is a beautiful locality to have a relaxing stroll before or after the meal. There's also a great bookshop just down the street that is a must visit.

The worst experience during our trip to Rome. No atmosphere - looks like a canteen. Awful service. I've never experienced such service in Italy. Our pasta was eatable but I can make the same at home when I have no time to cook at all. Certainly it is not worth its cost of 12 euro. For 12 euro I would expect good homemade pasta. The house wine was also the worst we had during our week in Rome. Avoid this place. Waste of money

Vincenzo Alla Lungaretta is a charming little restaurant located in Trastevere in Rome. We absolutely loved this place. The ambience, food and staff are all amazing. Our family (2A, 2K) ate here almost every night of our stay in Rome - it was that good.

It is a very cosy and intimate place with a typical home-style Rome look and feel. The staff could not be more genuinely welcoming. Ugo is one of the most charming waiters we have had the pleasure of meeting. He is a true gentleman, is dedicated to what he does and to his guests and is a credit to his profession. He looked after us as if we were family. My girls started referring to him as their "other Grandpa"!

The food is traditional, home-style Italian and is nothing short of excellent. The pasta is home made and perfect and I absolutely loved their baked artichoke. Prices are very reasonable and the food, drink, atmosphere and experience are worth every penny.

Do yourselves a huge favour next time you are in Rome and have dinner with Ugo at Vincenzo Alla Lungaretta. You will not be sorry you visited!
