We stayed here recently for a 3 day break and it was wonderful.

Room: we were only able to book a standard room but it was very good, in a quiet location and everything worked as expected. It had a sea view and small balcony, which worked very well. Next time I would book a luxury room.

Air con was very efficient and the bathroom, while not spectacular had everything and was a good size.

Food: magnificent. Dinner every night was truly excellent. Although in August there is a set €50 three course menu (and no a la carte) there is loads to choose from. Sea food options were stellar!!!

Evening dining is on the terrace overlooking the sea and headland.....with a full moon out it was simply stunning.

Breakfast was from a buffet with many choices, including a small range of hot options.

The head waiter (unfortunately I don't recall his name) is so very good at his job. Welcoming, knowledgable, enthusiastic and runs a very 'tight ship'. He is a real asset.

Beach: there is a private beach, which is very clean and while we were there it was busy but always had room. The sea is shallow for a good distance and would suit families. There are plenty of sunbathing areas with sunshades and towels are provided.

Bars: very good selection of bars and drinks. Expensive but you are buying a magnificent location.

Reception: efficient, effective and very helpful.

There are lots of levels to this hotel and therefore many steps (no lift) so you need to be aware. But the good thing is that this makes the hotel very interesting and varied. We loved his aspect - and it's good exercise.

This hotel is about a 10min taxi ride out of Gaeta and costs about €15. Taxi to Formia station is 15mins and €20 and the train to Naples is about 50mins.

I cannot recommend this excellent place highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

We stay here late September on check in we asked if we could get some lunch by the pool. unfortunately, if you travel late September in Italy a lot of these small hotels run on skeleton staff so do not expect a lot of services because it just is not available. The hotel is lovely the private beach was the high light and the minimal staff work hard to make your stay enjoyable you just need patience something management should look into not sacking all the staff until November because people still travel to Italy even after ferragosto.

Besides the spectacular setting, views and private beach , its service is to be commended. Our room's air conditioner did not work during Europe's warmest week's last week and the hotel did everything they could to ensure our comfort. They did this with such kindness, professionalism and respect for us during our holiday. I will always remember this. Thank you Stefano and to your entire professional staff!
Grazie mille.

We loved our stay at Le Rocce! Due to the configuration of the hotel, you never feel like you are in a crowded resort. It is peaceful and quiet with different levels that add to its character. We met relatives there who live in Southern France who had a great experience as well. The beach is amazing--secluded with crystal clear water, and clean soft sand where you can walk out very far in the water. The pool is a nice size with a bar to order lunch/drinks. I will say it would be a plus if there was an activity pool as well. Not one with organized events, but one where a family can play with a ball and jump in. The teenagers wanted to play with a ball and apparently that isn't allowed, even though it isn't posted anywhere and other families around us didn't mind. Breakfast buffet was good with lots of choices. We had dinner in the restaurant three times, which was excellent. Our room was updated and had a great view which definitely influenced our rating. The air conditioning worked great and this can make or break your room experience in summer. The shower is small but that's typical and we took quick ones. However, our sons' room (18 year old and 13 year old) on the garden floor was dark with door locking issues and the phone didn't work. There should be a price difference for these garden rooms as they are not as nice. This hotel has tons of stairs and levels which add to the beautiful views. There are around 200 stairs down to the beach and you need to climb back up to get to the pool or your room afterwards. However, the stair risers aren't too high so it was comfortable to climb them as well as good exercise after nights of pasta, wine and gelato! We enjoyed our peaceful time in the resort while still being a short ride away to explore downtown Gaeta, Sperlonga and Tiberius' grotto. The staff was great and they work very hard. They warm up once they see you a few times and our favorite was Fabio! We hope to return in the future.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views but there are more stairs

What a great place. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every single minute. It is a 4 stars hotel worth 5 stars. Not cheap. Especially since we took a little suite room: a palace room! Swimming pool on top of the rock above the sea. Restaurant with great views. Good service. Private little beach: 150 steps to get there: a stairway to heaven...
