Friendly family-run auberge on Via Sierra (within blocks of the beach featured in the movie "Il Postina"). This is a 45 minute hike up from the main ferry port, but this is a more secluded, calm part of the island. One can walk to the other side of the island (port farthest away Chiaachello??) and have lunch at Girone which is excellent, modestly-priced seating with great seafood, espresso and Limoncello.
Pros: Friendly, accommodating family staff. Rooms are clean and neat and wi-fi was average. Patio garden off our room with two chairs. At the end of the garden is an open dining patio overlooks the Mediterranean with beautiful views.
Cons: Basic breakfast of juices and somewhat stale pastries, and disappointing (no portafilter, etc.) espresso.hey do have fresh confiture (preserves) of various fruits from their garden, a plus. Evening meal was not very good either - avoid the meat dish. TMore
