Just back from a 3 night stay at the Royal Continental and can’t recommend this hotel highly enough for anyone looking for a reasonably priced great quality hotel in a perfect location for exploring Naples and the surrounding area.
We had a junior suite so benefitted from a separate dining and lounge area with an extra sea facing balcony. Bedroom was well appointed and very comfortable, and bathroom was basic but functional.
Continental breakfast very good too, plenty choice and good quality (the Sfogliatelle are heaven).
Helpful and friendly staff too.
Location on the seafront is perfect to explore the huge range of restaurants and cafe bars along the promenade. Had lunch and evening meals in different restaurants each day and could not fault any of them for quality and reasonable prices.
Make sure you take the open top bus tour of the northern coast of the bay, some stunning views and plenty of places to jump off and explore in the knowledge the next bus will be along 8n 30 minutes or so.
If you love fresco and mosaic, make sure you visit the Certosa e Museo di San Martino, up on the hill and easy to get to if you use the funicular railway from the centre of town.
Less than an hour by car / coach to Vesuvius and Pompeii, depending on how long you want to spend there it might be cheaper to taxi and just pay the entrance fees rather than be rushed along in a bigger group.

Perfect! Free spontaneous upgrade - non-loyalty. Recommend the deluxe rooms with laminated flooring, balcony and darkness shutter. View of amazing coastline and night activities. Wonderful bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel is very accomodating, lots of staff and very clean.

Minor point - can hear neighbours when shutters closed and some noise from downstairs. But this is picking at straws.

Wonderful and couldn't have asked for more.

Spent several nights there. Rooms were fine. Breakfast buffet was pretty good with good pastries and fruit. Eggs so so. Only complaint was that the AC was cut down low centrally at night and I woke up sweating. Came back on in the morning. Hate it when hotels do that. No complaints otherwise.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Italy. Staff was very friendly. Great waterfront view. Walking distance to restaurants and walking distance to where you can take a ferry to Capi or amalfi coast. Our room was amazing we stayed in the royal suite and it was absolutely beautiful.

Took an hour after check in time to give us a room, instead of properly communicating staff just kept walking to a back room.

While the view seems nice, I appreciate better costumer service.

25 euro for parking
Food at the “A” floor restaurant is too expensive and the menu is very small. Appetizers start around 20 euros.
