Sorrento has some lovely restaurants but L'Antica Trattoria I would strongly recommend a visit. Tucked away down one of the many cobbled streets you can make your way from the main square Piazza Torquato Tasso, and take a right towards Via Luigi De Maio, then on towards Via P.R. Giuliani 33. It would be easy to miss so keep your eyes open, there is a nice lively bar close by which is ideal for a quick drink before eating.
L'Antica Trattoria is accessed from stairs to a pretty flowed private eating area with a garden courtyard feel, very smart, clean and perfectly staffed. When we turned up there was several tables empty, but was advised that all tables were booked, however staff quickly re arranged some seating and found an ideal spot. To be sure it very quickly became a busy but well run restaurant. I would visit their website and book a table.
Food and service was so exceptional we visited twice during our stay.
As regular visitors to Sorrento we plan to use the restaurant whenever we can. The maitre d' is charming, and makes the whole experience extra special. Drinks and food are served just at the right pace and there are lots of really nice surprises.
If you are a Red wind drinker I strongly recommend a bottle Jaddico
