Loved this place! Very friendly, great food and price. Owner speaks English. Atmosphere was highly energetic as the late evening customers arrived. The place filled with families, couples, and Italian workers. The food was delicious and unique. Loved all his grandmothers recipes. Pasta made fresh everyday!

Tired of pizza all the time and followed TripAdvisor advice found this restaurant up on the hill. Simple decoration restaurant greeted by the friendly owner and outstanding food. Fusilli with meat sauce and veal is a must try. The wine and zucchini pasta is a little bit lack of luster. No salt and pepper on the table because the food is well seasoned. This restaurant is a must try while in Salerno City :)

If you're looking for great food in Salerno this is a must !!
A lovely friendly family run restaurant a little out of the way but if you're in the area try your best to get there !
The antipasta was a meal in itself and then comes the fresh homemade pasta and the sauces that are a taste sensation .
The dolci well what can I say, other than it was so good we took some away with us !!

The food here is delicious. The owner spent time in the US and speaks great English. He came out to the table a few times to make sure everything was to our liking. Pasta is excellent. It's a little set back from the busier areas but worth seeking this place out.

We were looking for a place to have lunch on the route to Matera, from Naples and we kind of randomly picked Salerno to stop over. We went to La Sartania, following TripAdvisor recommendation and I'm so glad we did!!
We would have never thought of going to this little gem!

Firstly the owner was so nice and friendly, speaking a rather good English, he was coming to chat about his food with so much passion and knowledge this was lovely!
We were sitting outside, next to the aromatic plants they're growing themselves, and we heard about this family run restaurant, where all the products are fresh, local, with unique family recipes and we even got to taste some goat's cheese that is produced in only one tiny Italian village where some of the family lives.

Onto the food itself, we started with some antipasti that could have been a meal on its own, as the portions were so generous!
Delicious cheese, cured meat, seasonal vegetables, everything cooked and seasoned perfectly.

We were already full, but we had to taste the pasta, as we knew they were freshly made. We had the ravioli with ricotta and fresh tomato sauce that was absolutely delicious. The ricotta was very fresh too, nothing to do with anything you can find in supermarkets.
We also had the cavaletti, with their own family recipe lemon pesto, and that goat's cheese indeed. Very delicious too. The combination of flavour was unique, and even though a pasta, dish, it tasted very fresh and made it feel lighter.

We thought we wouldn't have anything after as we were so full, but after everything being so good, we thought it would be a shame to miss a delicious 'dolce'. We did well and shared a 'rolled' sponge cake with cream and homemade nutella. Oh dear, how good. The sponge and cream were light and delicious whilst the chocolate/hazelnut cream melted in the mouth - all together it was divine.

To top it all off, it was cheap!
Absolute feast with incredible flavours that you wouldn't get in restaurant costing twice the price!

If you stop by Salerno, you need to go there!!
