After a week in Amalfi enjoying very high quality food, this turns out to be probably the best so far. Come here hungry, and you wont be disappointed. Ensure you book al fresco, its on the first floor up a few steps from the busy street. As we entered, I glanced into the kitchen and saw a dish just prepared (anchovies), which I ordered on the spot. Spaghetti with clams was excellent, the lamb cooked pink was tasty, but the real table thumper was the fish soup main course. It says "minimum 2 persons" - frankly could feed a family of four easily. We did not finish it. Desserts ordered by surrounding tables looked brilliant but we were already too full. If you have the time and belly for it, recommend you try one of the two tasting menus. Strike up a conversation with the waiter on the da Gemma history - I'll leave that to you, but it's a story of friendship, talent, and hard work that's paid off well.
