we walked around the whole citadel, which was very easy to do from the location of our hotel, the citadel is nearly completely intact, so it gives you a wonderful idea of how this city was defended against its many enemies in the old days.. worth a visit and a very nice walk at that

I slept in this citadel and had fantastic views of the city. The high walls are quite dangerous so be careful when walking around the perimeter.

The Citadel is a nice place to go for a walk and some of the higher elevated areas give good views of the city. Unfortunately we couldn't get inside the buildings, I'm not sure that was due to the date we were there or if that is never possible.
