My partner and i went to madrid for the first time to see the world pride parade there, the hotel itself is quiet far from the city centre, but no worries there is Metro close by the hotel, so you can get to the city easily,
Martha the reception was so helpful and friendly, she's the one who checked us in and out,
Healthy breakfast, the housekeeping always maintained the cleanliness and tidy up our room.

Well done Ibis team!
Keep it up

Myself and my wife came to this hotel in May. Very good customer services at the front desk. Room was nice, only issue : the wooden flooring was really squeaky.
Location for hotel is only 5 mins walk from train station. As you come out of train station first road backwards. You will understand when your there yourself.
Local shop just minutes away and good outlets nearby.
City was close just a few stops.
All in all happy with our stay at hotel.

We booked for a 4 night stay at the Ibis Madrid after reading some good reviews.

We had bought a 5 day metro tourist ticket which costs €26.80, you can get these from terminal 4 at the airport and in my opinion are an absolute bargain for getting around!

The journey from the airport to the hotel was a 9 minute bus journey to the metro stop and then a 5 minute journey on the metro before a short 2-3 minute walk from the station Suanzes to the hotel which was ideal! Metros are generally every 5 minutes during the day and run until 1.30am so plenty of time to enjoy a few sangrias!

The metro into the city from here took on average 20-30 minutes and as they were so frequent, we found you weren't kept waiting for longer than a couple of minutes at a time. They can get quite busy depending on the time of day but as the hotel stop was quite far out you could pretty much guarantee a seat when heading into town. We got off most days at Gran Via as it was the most central but once you get into the centre, all things are fairly close together so we ended up walking the majority around the city.

We were given the room 218 which overlooked another tall building not so the views were not great, but for the little amount of time we planned on spending in the room, this was not an issue. The room was fairly small but the bed extremely comfy with an extra pillow in case needed. There's a hairdryer, ensuite shower room, TV, air con and a desk. Although you needed a card to gain access to the room, you did not need one to power the electrics so you were able to keep the air con on to chill the room which was needed after a day of walking round in 39 degree heat. The only downside to the room was the lack of fridge meaning we couldn't keep any cold snacks or water!

We decided on the first morning to have their breakfast which costs €7.95 each. There was a selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereal, pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt, fruit juices as well as normal tea, fruit tea and coffee. The breakfast was nice, with extra topping for the yoghurt, however probably not worth the €7.95 each. At the top of the street near the metro station there are other cafes and restaurants so it is worth exploring before choosing to eat there everyday.

Before heading out into the city for dinner we would have a drink in the bar. The waitresses were always friendly and you get a huge glass of sangria for €2! Bottles of water are available from reception (small 500ml is €1, larger 150ml is €2) however they were never particularly cold but we did find it useful to get one before going anywhere as you don't know when the next time you'll pass a shop will be.

During our time we ate out at a variety of restaurants, most during the day offering free tapas with a drink. Indola tapas was our favourite which was just off the gran via. For €5.95 we got 2 half pint of beers and got to choose which tapas dish we wanted ranging from sandwiches, burgers, cheese bites and croquettes. Another good tapas place we tried was call el Tigre, again just off gran via, here we paid €10 euros for 2 pints and 3 massive plates of tapas including baguette slices with ham, cheese or tortilla as well as patatas bravas. We left here feeling stuffed!

Mu! El Placer De Le Carne was the best little restaurant we stumbled across. For €10 euros you get bread and oil, starter, steak and chips or salad as well as pudding and a shot of the daily liqueur. The service was impeccable and although potion sizes seem small at first, we left feeling very content and we're big eaters! There is often a queue but as there was only two of us we had no trouble getting a table!

Overall our stay in Madrid was a good experience and although the ibis was slightly pricey for what was included, the location was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and the rooms clean. You could spend more and be more central but the proximity of the metro station makes the commute into the city manageable.

The Ibis hotels are know to be functional and inexpensive, and the Valentin Beato was that. And when Madrid was having weather when the temperatures reached 40C (100+F) the excellent air conditioning was welcome. So was the courteous staff and the nice breakfast (an extra but reasonable cost). The street of the hotel is industrial -- mainly auto service and dealerships, but a wide array of restaurants is within easy walk. The hotel is 200 yards from a Metro station, and the same distance to bus lines including one that takes you to the IFEMA conference center. It is also close to the international airport. I will be going back to this property the next time I'm in Madrid. The only problem was a glitch with the Internet that was rapidly fixed.

We enjoyed our stay at Ibis Madrid Valentin Beato Hotel. The room was small but clean. The staff were very helpful and available 24/7. The breakfast buffet was tasty but would have liked to have more variety in options. The hotel is located close to the metro station so we could easily reach the centre. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a budget holiday in Madrid.
