Stayed 4 nights with my family. Very pleased for the room we were assigned, decorated with Les Mis theme, as we requested. The staff was always very helpful. Specially, Jose at the reception, who was very kind and informative about all the amenities and places of interest to visit near the Hotel.

I loved the breakfast a lot!!! Would recommend this hotel for sure!

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for its informative and helpful staff, quaint and quirky vibe and excellent location. A great little cafe next door was all we needed to get us going in the morning. Our room was on the top floor and had just been added so it did not offer the same theater vibe as the other rooms but we slept well and the shower in the generous bathroom was great. The manager gave us a history of the hotel which we really enjoyed.

Room Tip: Ask not to be on the top floor as the breakfast area is up there so you hear people going past your room.

Excellent value for money hotel in the heart of Madrid. Each room is decorated in the theme of a different film. Air conditioned rooms.

Plenty of bars, restaurants and things to do within seconds of the front door.

Located on a quiet side street.

Roof top breakfast buffet with inside and outside seating.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

If we come back to Madrid, I would happily stay here again.

One change I would make would be to add fridges to each room. It’s been 37C here this week. The option for cold drinks in our room would have really helped. (It was 32C at midnight last night!)

Stayed here for a week. We were assigned room 405. I believe it is the only room with rooftop terrace. Two problems with the room. The a/c units water drainage system makes a grinding noise for about 4 seconds and well at night while sleeping it does bother. I do not know if it is the same for all other rooms. Second, the shower is an actual tub that is somewhat tricky to get in since there are no handles to get a good grip and climb in. This same shower/tub has a serious water spill over the top to the floor and again, if not careful you could seriously slip and get hurt. Plus, the constant fight with the shower curtain while actually taking a shower. This room faces the main street so it is noisy. Bed is really confi and you are given pillow options for a better rest. Other than the above, it is a kool little hotel with a unique style.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the main street are noisy due to the traffic.

We stayed here 4 days in late May, 2018. I’d rate Casual Madrid excellent for the service by the staff and very good, especially for the location.

It is in the heart of the City, less than a 10 min. walk to the Prado Museum and Plaza Mayor. The Atocha train and other locations are easily accessed on the Metro. The hotel entry is set up to resemble a box office, and the walls and rooms are decorated in different Broadway themes. Our room had a blazing “Cabaret” in theatre lights on the wall above the bed that was a shock when we first turned it on, but it was OK for reading in bed and once we got used to it. There is a bakery and restaurant on the corner that is good for take-out coffee and baked goods as well as sitting down for meals. There are many other restaurants nearby.

The two front desk personnel, Isabel and Elena, provided excellent service for us with a major problem we had when we arrived on a Friday. I had left my good Canon camera in the reception area of the Parador de Merida hotel in Merida on Wednesday. The missing camera wasn’t as important as the memory chip inside it that held 2½ weeks of photos from our trip that we couldn’t replace. We noticed the camera was missing later that day as soon as we arrived at our next hotel in Plasencia. We immediately contacted the Parador, and they promised to have it sent by a messenger service to Casual Madrid by Friday -- but they didn’t. When we arrived at Casual Madrid, Isabel called the Parador for us and learned the camera was still unsent at the Parador desk. It was too late on Friday for the Parador to get it picked up, and there are no pickups or deliveries by anyone on Saturday or Sunday. Isabel and Elena made a significant number of calls for us over the next several days, first to find a delivery service who could get it picked up in Merida and sent to us the fastest. They continually followed up with the Parador over the weekend and again first thing Monday to be sure they had scheduled it for pick up and to be sent for same day delivery to us Madrid. They got the Parador to email a confirmation that the messenger service had picked up the camera. Unfortunately, the Parador did not schedule it for same day delivery, but for delivery Tuesday morning. We had an early morning flight to the U.S. and couldn’t wait until it arrived. After we left Isabel and Elena kept us informed by email that the camera did arrive Tuesday morning after we left, they agreed to hold the camera for us until a friend who lived in Madrid was able to pick it later in the week, and they let us know when it was picked up. Thanks to Isabel and Elena, we were able to save our photos. We couldn’t have expected better service from them.
