The hotel is situated very centrally and within easy walking distance of most main tourist areas of the city as well as the range of bars and restaurants that Madrid has to offer. This was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the city for the three days we were there. However because of the location, it can be a little noisy at night but that is not unusual for a central city location. The hotel itself has good facilities and the room was modern, clean and had everything we needed. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel and there are plenty of options for a light breakfast and a coffee in the city streets just outside and this was perfect as it worked out cheaper than the hotel breakfast. We used the metro to travel between the airport and the hotel and it was very easy. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Opera metro station. Overall I would recommend and I would stay here again if I return as the location is perfect and the hotel is a very good standard.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as a weekend break with friends. It's ideally situated on Calle Arenal which has plenty of shops bars and places to eat. Then you are just a few minutes walk from Puerto del Sol and the rest of Madrid is easily accessible from there,
The hotel was spotless and the rooms large clean and modern. The bed was large and very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom was also large with a big shower. Small criticisms are that there was no mirror in the bedroom and the only bin was in the bathroom too but these are minor niggles.
The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again.

We had a room on the 4th floor (hotel as lifts) a/c with a small balcony complete
with shutters to shut out the late night revelry....worked well
Room was very comfortable with sufficient space to store baggage and move around

The hotel is located centrally in Avenil St not far from the Opera Metro - the other
Metro Sol is located further up Avenil St

We enjoyed our 4 nights there with excellent choices of continental breakfast

Also the street is traffic free apart from taxis in early morning

Room Tip: 4th floor room overlooking Avenel St was ideal...comfortable and spacious

Had the opportunity to stay at this place while on vacation in Madrid for a few days and I cannot emphasize enough its perfect location. All the restaurants, bars are all within a few blocks. Very convenient. I recommend it and will definitely stay there again...

Hotel Francisco I was conveniently located between the Sol and Opera Metro station. Lots of restaurants, bakeries, and shops line the Calle Arenal. It's a safe street to stroll. Room was charming, clean, and comfortable. Check in was efficient. They even welcomed us with a drink! It's also a minute walk from the famous Chocolateria de San Gines!
