We enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Hotel Preciados in Madrid. The hotel is located in a commercial section of Madrid, a large shopping and restaurant district. It is close to the Palacio Real and Plaza Mayor. This area teams with life in the evenings, both locals and tourists. The Hotel Preciados was in a good location for us. We used the close-by Metro to take day trips to Segovia and El Escorial. The room was not large but nicely sized. The room and bathroom were modern and the bed comfortable. There was a nice sized closet area. We decided to eat breakfast at the café next to the hotel. The breakfast was pricey but for us well worth the price, as a large breakfast helped on our day trips outside Madrid. We felt that the hotel offered a good value in a major city.

Room tip: We enjoyed our second floor room

Nice Hotel in a great location, however, the room was small and we could not open the window/door as the noise from the reconstruction and other street noise was too loud. The coffee supplied in the room was packets of freeze dried (ugh!). Expensive for comparable hotels.

Hotel room was well appointed and comfortable. Front desk staff were very helpful. Many restaurants nearby. Very convenient to all the major sight seeing spots in Madrid. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

Chose this hotel because of the good reviews and location but also because it offers car parking not offered by the other one we considered. 21 euros a day just pull up outside and concierge parks it for you which we appreciated given it’s right in city centre. So central just walk out the door and you’re amongst all the bars, restaurants & shopping as well as close to key sights. A short walk to Sol which felt like the centre of everything. Metro stations nearby. Hotel reception helpful and friendly. There a bar / restaurant attached to hotel which you don’t need because of all the alternatives but we did stop and have a couple of drinks & staff friendly. Room itself was very nice with two small french balcony’s overlooking street. Electronic shutters for good sleep. Good large bed. Big wardrobe. Free minibar with soft drinks and one can of beer restocked daily very useful for bottle of water each day. Fast WiFi. Downsides - no conveniently located mirror for using the hairdryer plugs too far away. Bathroom very clean & light but annoying shower over bath that sprays water all round the room. Stubbed toe on badly located bathroom door stop. Overall would recommend and would definitely stay again.
