It was the first park I visited in Madrid I still think it's nice. I realy enjoyed the part of the park where you could stay on the grass a have a quaiet moment. The rest is not spectacular and the park was dirty (you can not compare it with the parks in Barcelona). If you visit Madrid you can visit it but it's not a must see.

A wonderful park that offers something for everyone. Plenty of areas for walking, biking and running plus a very nice boating basin where you can rent row boats and enjoy the scenery. The park has plenty of gardens, architecture and photo opportunities as well. Whether you just want a casual stroll or something more this park gives you a wonderful flavor of Madrid and its people.

The Retiro park is one of several parks dotted around the city and offers a welcome break from the heat and bustle Madrid. Perfect for running , cycling or just a leisurely walk along one of its many tree lined avenues. There are street entertainers and musician dotted around the park to add to its charm.

At its centre you have 'El estanque' which is a man made lake where you can hire a little rowing boat or sit down and have a coffee , beer and something to eat while you can do a little people watching.

Great way to spend the day!

I used to take my love conquers there.
It's simply a magical spot in the middle of Madrid's crazyness.
Try to visit it even if you don't feel like it. It may not move you once you are there... but you will always remember that moment.
And, guys... it has one of the few statues of the Devil in the world. Come on!
