The Palace is my favorite hotel in Madrid. We have stayed here many times. The service is excellent. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Visit the bar, where Hemingway and Federico Lorca drank, and played a trick on Salvador Dali. They called him up and pretended they could not pay the bar bill, short of money. Dali, a good guy, rushed over. There is a framed poem written by Lorca at the bar. Try the Mai Tai. Have drinks, lunch, dinner in the first floor restaurant. Excellent service, delicious food. Check out the ceiling rotunda art, imagery of a gondola, giving you the feeling you are dreaming in the sky.

Room Tip: Plaza de las Cortes street view

Never in my life have I experienced the kind of staff attitudes and horrible level of service as here.

The hotel has great bones, meaning the palatial look and feel is stunning and the (newly refurbished) rooms on the fifth and sixt floor are pleasantly appointed but it is unfortunately staffed by a front office team that is the most arrogant and unfriendly I ever met and are in desperate need of a career evaluation.

For €300 a night I suggest you spend your money somewhere else.

Was there with my family in the Easter Break for a week. We enjoyed our stay. Very busy hotel at that time but service was very good. Friendly staff too. We have two connected rooms so we had some good space for the 5 of us. The only comment I have is the variation of breakfast buffet. Selection was good but I wish it would change on daily basis so over a week we don’t get bored from the food.

My wife and I stayed at the Westin Palace March 30 - April 3, 2018. I am an SPG Gold member, and had reserved a Junior Suite, and was upgraded several levels to an Executive Suite on the top (6th) floor with a view of the Nautilus Fountain. The room was excellent: spacious and bright and luxurious and quiet, with excellent views. The Rotonda Restaurant, where we had breakfasts, was spectacular, and the buffet breakfast provided a wide choice of excellent food. The other common rooms were also very attractive. The location - on the Paseo del Prado - was excellent, with almost all the interesting Madrid sights within walking distance. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and very helpful. Staying at the Westin Palace helped make our first trip to Madrid a very enjoyable experience.

Perfect location, at walkable distance from the major museums (Thyssen-Bornemisza is just in front) and from Plaza St Ana, an area offering a wide choice of tapas restaurants.
The style of the hotel is magnificent and well preserved (I guess they had a recent renovation).
The rooms are elegantly decorated, bed is very comfortable; indulging in a room-service breakfast is recommended.
And don’t miss a cup of tea in the round lounge under the gorgeous liberty-style glass dome.
If you need to work at a computer and use a printer, the business lounge is just perfect.
Personnel is very professional, in a spontaneous warm way.
Highly recommended both for tourism and business.
