“To those who have seen great caves, this will be a disappointment”
Review of St. Michael's Cave

St. Michael's Cave

This is not a wild internal cavern, but a hollowed-out space of a small cave that was retrofitted to have concerts in. The result is neither a natural experience nor a man-made experience but a bit of both. For those who like wild caves, this will be a disappointment. The cave has a small gift shop and some bathrooms.

What a fantastic cave. Awe inspiring - I wonder if Gaudi came here before he designed the cathedral in Barcelona.

This is a very nice cave that is used as a concert hall. The lights are very nice and there are lots to see. Good shoes are a must as it was dripping water and the walkways were wet.

This is one of the few lovely and beautiful places to visit when in Gibraltar. The St. Michael Cave (limestone) is located within the premise of St. Michael Cabin, the cafe cum souvenir shop.

With the special and colourful lighting effects, the limestone cave looks grand, majestic and awesome. And these lights change consistently from one colour to another, giving another perspective of the initial view. You will be able to see the limestone structures of various shapes and sizes which take a long time to evolve.

There are steps for you to walk down (a setup stage for concert performances) and also be careful or the slippery floor in some areas and walking through the cave is easy and almost a straight-path ahead.

As compared to other limestone caves, this is considered one of the smaller ones but in terms of beauty, it's one of the more lovely and nice ones especially thanks to the lightings. Unless you would like to stay longer for photography or to explore every corner of the cave, you can finish your "expedition" within 30 mins but it's definitely a worth to see attractions here!

It's awesome and I highly recommend it!
