We loved the city of Girona and were only at the hotel one night, but would not recommend a stay here.
PROS: Wonderful view in top of the hill overlooking Girona, bed was comfortable.
CONS: staff was rude and inattentive (likely because they were understaffed), the entire property was dingy/worn/outdated, poor bathroom design
My daughter and I stayed for a night as we were sightseeing for a day in Girona which was fabulous. We got a taxi from the station to the hotel, 9euro we left our luggage as it was only 11am, super friendly staff on reception.
We returned around 3 and checked in. The reception area and pool area are beautiful and the room is fine however there is no kettle or coffee making facilty, not even a glass! I totally appreciate there is a bar and restaurant but as a five star I didnt even check for these options. I presumed there would be. Also no iron, we asked at reception and they had one for whole hotel. Mini bar isn't the best either. English news channels ok TV and usual toiletries provided. Only two hangers In the wardrobe was poor.
The pool is small but what a view with lots of beds and comfortable seating and towels are provided. No fault with pool.
Bar very slow service and we didn't use the restaurant.
We walked back and forth to Girona but it's very high up so lots of steps but taxis are plentiful if preferred.
For what we paid it was fine but as a five star disappointing
Rooms, baths and views are fabulous. But the hotel is looking tired. Hallway carpet stained, room chairs stained, no USB ports in the rooms , chips on the bathroom sink, and very few outlets for multiple devices. Excellent restaurant.
Girona is a lovely city and this hotel is a great option - I have stayed once on my own and then with my family (youngest 10 years)
The terrace area and view are fabulous. It’s also surprisingly good value I have found.
It’s about 10mins walk from Girona (though uphill coming back) so pretty convenient too
Stayed for 4 nights with my husband. We have busy lives and wanted to chill out. The only reason I have scored 4 *is due to the irritating music played all day on the terrace. I asked for it to be turned down but it didn't happen. This is a minor point for a lot of people so may not bother others. Steep short walk up to the hotel but we knew this before we arrived. We are both fit so this didn't bother us. Hotel was quiet and peaceful and felt laid back. Mixture of guests from serious cyclists to flight crew. Breakfast was lovely - fresh bread, meats, cheeses and plenty pastries and cakes (were dieting now! 😀). Fresh coffee rather than nespresso would have been nice but I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Staff were courteous and room was spotless and very well decorated (not sure where the other reviewers stayed but didn't sound like this hotel at all). A good walk from train station (about 20 min) but really handy for the old town which has great restaurants - can recommend Tagliettella) 😁 Great views from the terrace and very small pool for cooling off in.
