Girona is a lovely city and this hotel is a great option - I have stayed once on my own and then with my family (youngest 10 years)
The terrace area and view are fabulous. It’s also surprisingly good value I have found.
It’s about 10mins walk from Girona (though uphill coming back) so pretty convenient too
Stayed for 4 nights with my husband. We have busy lives and wanted to chill out. The only reason I have scored 4 *is due to the irritating music played all day on the terrace. I asked for it to be turned down but it didn't happen. This is a minor point for a lot of people so may not bother others. Steep short walk up to the hotel but we knew this before we arrived. We are both fit so this didn't bother us. Hotel was quiet and peaceful and felt laid back. Mixture of guests from serious cyclists to flight crew. Breakfast was lovely - fresh bread, meats, cheeses and plenty pastries and cakes (were dieting now! 😀). Fresh coffee rather than nespresso would have been nice but I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Staff were courteous and room was spotless and very well decorated (not sure where the other reviewers stayed but didn't sound like this hotel at all). A good walk from train station (about 20 min) but really handy for the old town which has great restaurants - can recommend Tagliettella) 😁 Great views from the terrace and very small pool for cooling off in.
We went there for the festival of flowers- which was wonderful despite the rail.

The hotel, we had a suite is situated outside in a wonderful location but all the rest is a disgrace!
The managment ignores all what has been mentioned by my fellow travellers:
- The rooms are really to be renovated, the sofa was dirty, and everything needs to be refurbished.
We had old fashioned beds and the water ( not dry season ) was reallly a disaster.
We wanted to change the suite because it‘s next to the office where you can hear the kitchen, the room maids VERY LATE AND VERY EARLY!
-We complained about and directly by the señoritas at the reception - we speak Spanish fluently :
But the people with the litter vans, the containers, are just under the suites - and this starts after 6 in the morning!
Do you take your guests for hard of hearing or just stupid?
- No other room „ la oficina no es a Su lado, ok) then I am an illiterate.
- The people from the laundy service must do the job early. Ok! Gracias!
Then I pay for what? For the view?
This is not a Marriot- it‘s s a hotel that uses this name but you feal like in a youth hostel!
Room service - we were paid back - because the food we ordered was a disgrace.Frozen and uneatable.
Summary:
We had a wonderful visit of this fantastic city, the people, all so lovely!
But I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. I never critisize without informing.
But the teuth is- they do not care!
This is not my Catalunya!
If you go on like this- it won‘t work! And wonderful staff looses the jobs due to mismanagment and non investment!

Recently stayed her and was disappointed. The hotel rated 5 star. Not at all.
The pool is just bigger than a plunge pool and only 10 sun beds which were occupied from early on.
The king room was a good size and be very comfortable. Storage very limited. Decor was very tired. Wallpaper coming off the walls. Fabric very worn on chair. Blackout curtains full of holes allowing ‘moth like light in.
The hotel is in a great location for the old town, however the steep climb back up to the hotel is challenging.
Breakfast would have been great, however hot eggs rubbery and cold! Hot plate not working. No juice in jugs on 2nd day.
There was a function on on Thursday night which meant no food on terrace - we did not know about function and knew nothing of entertainment until it happened.
The worst aspect was the music noise from about 22.00 until 03.00 on Friday and Saturday - ethnic group outside grounds who do not respond to police apparently. Very noisy! Staff said they informed police but could do nothing.
Sorry would not return here.
We experienced an efficient check-in process and pleasant interactions with the staff. The rooms are well sized, equipped with everything you need (plugs, coffee etc.) and very clean. From the swimming pool area you can enjoy a nice view to the area. The city center is in walking distance (max. 20 minutes). We found it strange that we could not add the beers and the breakfast to the hotel bill, but had to pay it immediately after consumption. Strange.
