This is a tad late, for sure. We were there en famille in July 2012 and had a wonderful time. What sticks in the memory was the nice staff, a barbecue meal next to the pool (they gave us the best table, bless 'em), and a little library where we borrowed an Andre Agassi autobiography. Manager even let us take it away. Family-run. Bravo!
We stopped in this hotel on route to Almeria and the Staff were so helpful and friendly. After a long drive from London and arriving late they still managed to serve us a fantastic meal in their restaurant.
Lovely spacious rooms/ large comfortable beds/clean,fresh and a fantastic bathroom with a great shower.
The next day we travelled to Almeria and decided to book this hotel again on our return back to the uk.
After arriving early Evening the receptionist Mr Joan Isern was so helpful.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions the hotel restaurant was closed but Joan phoned around and organised a Chinese meal to be delivered to the hotel for us.
Fantastic meal from Gran Muralla Top class.
Honestly bar in reception is great, had a lovely evening and a great Breakfast in the morning.
The hotel was very quiet and we never had an issues with noise in the evening or through out our stay.
Finally this hotel for a 3* is brilliant and I will be booking again on my return to Spain.

The hotel is modern, clean and has nice staff. We chose it because of those features for our week long holiday in Girona. The rooms are lovely with big beds and large bathrooms. It has a nice bar where you can get drinks from. I would also recommend the restaurant to eat dinner in.
The problem is that we didnt get a good nights sleep over the 7 nights we stayed. It is incredibly noisy and we could hear every movement from upstairs. We woke up 3-4 times a night because of the noise in the hotel. Every morning we were woken early by what sounded like furniture being moved around upstairs.
People also seemed to come to the pool regardless of whether they were staying in the hotel or not. A large family came and blasted music while eating McDonalds around the pool while we were outside which was quite annoying!
I would perhaps recommend this hotel for one or two nights sleep (with earplugs!) but would not stay here again for a week long trip.
We only stayed a night but we found the service very good and the breakfast excellent. Although on my request on booking, I also requested a reservation for dinner, on arrival was told the restaurant doesn't open at the weekend. This of course should have been communicated to me. As we had been travelling 7 hours, we didn't want to go in search for dinner. It was actually only a 15 minute walk to the centre, so not too bad. We were apologised to and offered an early evening drink. A gesture that we we appreciated.
Hotel Costabella is a very good hotel in the lovely town of Girona. We stayed for 2 nights during the week, on the first floor, street side when the hotel was extremely full.
Pros: very spacious bathroom, sparkling clean, mini bar fridge, kettle, good wifi, bike storage and the front desk staff were both extremely helpful and friendly.
Cons: the complimentary coffee in the room is decaffeinated, when wanting fresh air by opening the window it is extremely noisy in the room on the street side, walls are pretty thin and the room doors are very loud so we had a lot of noise disturbance from our late night party neighbors at 2am when they kept leaving their room (presumably going outside for smoking) and when the other early rising neighbors had their shower at 6am it sounded like we were in the shower with them! Our 2nd night was better as the late night party guests had left the hotel!
