El Laurel is one of the "cheap eats" on Trip Advisor and we keep a list when visiting a city. El Laurel did not disappoint...a small 'hole in the wall' restaurant with big flavours. I had an interesting salad with purple endive, oranges, olives and dates wrapped in bacon--delicious! My husband had their good value 9.90E set menu with salad, 3 empanadas (of your choice) and a drink. The empanadas are delicious and the "colored" ones a delectable foodie treat. The restaurant is at the top edge of El Raval and the east side of Sant Antoni...very safe neighborhoods!
