This little wine and tapas bar was an oasis in a sea of commercialism. The wine selection was fabulous, daily specials that changed each day and felt as though they'd been drawn from a library of fine vintages. If you like, be sure to buy it; it may not be available the next day. We especially enjoyed visiting with José; he was happy to talk wine and give us a lesson in Spanish wines. Do not miss this place!

Just the sort of place you hope to find in Barcelona. From the quiet & quaint pedestrian street outside in this Ciutat Vela (Old Town) district it looks like a great wine shop, but it's more because in back is a wine & food bar, serving a limited but high-quality range of traditional dishes: amazing Jamón Iberico, other charcuteries, cheeses. Don't know if they also serve more healthy dishes. A selection of 6 reds & 6 whites sold by the glass, listed on blackboards, and an extensive & fascinating list sold by the bottle, + many cava's. Charming old traditional decor. Prices are very reasonable for this high quality. Good knowledgeable & friendly service and English spoken.

We visited here as a part of the Tapas, Taverns & History of Barcelona walking food tour with Devour Barcelona. Such a wonderful spot, family run - we ate, drank and learned! Very welcoming owner. Delicious food etastings and the 65 year old family recipe for vermouth, wow, I had no idea - vermouth here in the United States is just not the same - this vermouth at Maestrazgo is young, crisp, light - not dull and 'thick', or muddy - remarkable and eye-opening - and super inexpensive! You can bring a container here and have it filled from the barrels of fresh delicious and inexpensive wine! Definitely come here, relax, spend some time, enjoy some wine and food.

We visited as part of a Devour Barcelona tour, so glad we did. It is worth seeking out and has a local feel. Oh, and the wine and tapas are great, too.

We were directed here by a local. The tapas was great as well as the meats, cheese and olive oil. Really enjoyed their homemade Vermut. Great tastes and friendly staff. Sampled some wine as well. Worth a visit.
