This apartment has got everything and more, very clean and well equipped, central located, supermarkets, bakeries and coffee shops nearby, all in easy walking distance. Metro stop just about 100 metres away, would suggest to buy a ticket for ten rides. As a female solo traveller I felt safe walking anytime in a friendly neighbourhood, people are helpful and most of them speak basic English. Some travellers who rented this apartment have mentioned “noise problems “ - I have to disagree with this.the place has got special glass windows and when shut,it’s very quiet. A/C , TV and WIFi working well. I would like to thank Linda and Henryk for making my stay very pleasant, no complaints at all. If I had the chance to go back to Barcelona I would always consider to stay at your lovely place again!
On our 1st trip to Spain we were impressed! The relatively untouristed Poble Sec neighbourhood suited us perfectly. The inhabitants are mostly local Catalans with a minority immigrant population from Spanish speaking South America.
We used buses to get around. The D20, two minutes away on foot at Paralell Ave., goes down to Las Ramblas and the port area of Barceloneta where there are many fish restaurants. Two stops away, same bus but in the opposite direction got us to Placa Espanya from where we strolled up to the beautiful magic fountain, (best at night with the music show - check times!). The D50 can be picked up about 5 minutes away at Ronda Sant Pau and we hopped off this bus just a few minutes walk from Gaudi's amazing cathedral. The T10 ticket can be used for 10 trips on Bus or Metro and can be bought at the machine the pobel Sec underground station on Paralell. Each usage of the ticket allows 1 hour and 15 mins travel and can be used for more than one bus/metro within that period. Cost is 10.20EU cash or card.
The Appt is located on Blai, a pedestrian only street, and there is good food to be found nearby. We had lunch every day at our favourite Tapas/Pintxos bar three blocks down on Blai at La Tasqueta de Blai. Also on Blai just a few doors up from the Appt. at deno. 57 is Malameń. Modern gourmet style cuisine. Standouts were the pate with pistacchios and cherry sauce and a beautifully tender Ox Sirloin on a bed of potatoe puree. Up on Paralell about halfway between Metro Poble Sec and Placa Espanya is L'Amphora, one of the best Paella places in town. On the last night we went to the to La Bella Napoli Italian just a few steps away around the corner on Margarit.Nice place, excellent Pizza.
A word of thanks to the owners, Linda and Henryk, who provide a most comprehensive and helpful introduction to the appt. and the town. The aimiable Sergio (who checked us in) was terrifically helpful also.
I will stay here again for sure. Super helpful and a beautiful place. Sergio was the best! Thanks guys.
We were so excited to visit Barcelona for the first time and discovered Henrik and Linda's appartment on Trip Advisor. It looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, an accident left me with a broken arm and I am unable to travel. The communication with them had already been easy and friendly but we are most appreciative of their supportive attitude towards our cancellation. Thank you Henrik and Linda. We are anticipating a most pleasant visit in the future. Louise and Richard
We received a warm welcome from Sergio, the local agent, who made us feel very at ease in the apartment. The facilities are good, the standard of cleanliness high and there are CD/DVDs available for use.The apartment's location is well placed for exploring ALL of Barcelona, as it is very close to two Metro stations and main bus routes. There are plenty of local shops, bars and restaurants close by too!
