This part of town has a different feel to the old town with elegant buildings and wide boulevards. There are some upmarket hotels and eateries here and some expensive shopping but it is a good place to mix with the locals and quite untouristy in a very touristy city!

This used to be the place to be seen, and houses Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, as well as a myriad of designer shops. It is worth a wander along, as it has a nice atmosphere and some bars, and also has many benches if you fancy a bit of people watching. However, don’t expect to shop unless you can stretch to Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton etc!
We really enjoyed wandering around the off-shoots of the main road, and La Sagrada Familia is only half an hour’s walk from it.

Known to be a prestigious street with shops catering to well known expensive tastes. Also includes Gaudi's last 2 houses that he designed.

Lovely street to walk along. It has beautiful heritage architectural buildings, restaurants, designer departments lined along this street. The famous Casa Batlio, Cas Mila and super-designer shops can be found along this street.
