This is a small Hotel with very few facilities
as we where only staying one night & only needed to get our heads down it suited us
Close to Plaza Catalunya - Handy for the airport Bus
Room ; Very basic But Clean & Tidy - Television Hairdrier & Safe
Luggage stored in corridor by reception but no problems
Flight of Steps, to get to lift to access reception - we only had hand luggage so was ok for us
Overall, very basic but OK for the the price and would use again for a short stay

The Pelayo is a strange little hotel in an amazing location and is well priced. We booked two 4 bed (yes four bed!) rooms for 2 nights. They were clean with ensuite and enough room for our needs. There is a safe in the room for 2 euros a night.

The hotel is not the easiest to find as its the first floor of a building with other uses. You go through an entrance into the building, go up about 15 stairs to a lift and press level 1 which gets you there. It really needs to be better signposted.

Reception are friendly and helpful, I slept well but there is a bit of noise from the reception areas for light sleepers. It's not fancy or modern but for the price it's a great find and would use again.

It's not for a romantic weekend but it suites its purpose for a few nights and the location is right in the centre of Barcelona close to the top of La Rambla and Place de Catalunya.

There's a lovely bakery just up from the hotel for an eat in or outside breakfast that we used twice.

We had selected for the good position (so close to plaça Cataluña and Rambla) but we find also a comfortable place with good personnel. Thanks to Oscar for the great advices for discovering this beautiful city.

The hotel is on level 1 and there are about 12 steps up to the lift, there is a stair lift for the first 12 steps. We had room 105 right next to the reception desk, there was noise from the entrance doorbell and a wc the staff use. The hotel is part of a larger complex so there was noise from other businesses early in the morning too. The location is great for exploring the city. Other rooms may have been quieter.

The hotel is very centrally located, and is immaculately clean. The staff are very helpful. Our room was small, but useful and comfortable. The vending machines are reasonably priced, and there is a cute bakery called Dori Dori, which is very cheap and tasty next door.

There is a TV in the lobby, which is sometimes too loud, and we could hear it in our room on occasion.

For what we paid, we would not hesitate to recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main lobby
