This hotel known by two names - Sant Augusti and San Augustin is in a great location just off La Ramblas and about in the middle of this famous street.
Extremely clean and well modernised.
Reception is a pleasant place to relax and the staff helpful.
The bedrooms are very clean, modern and comfortable with a reasonable amount of space.
Lighting could be improved though as there is no light over or the near the wardrobe.
Air conditioning is reasonably efficient.
Tea & coffee making facilities in the room would make a great improvement.
Bathroom again very clean containing washbasin, lavatory, bidet and a bath with shower over it.
The breakfast was excellent with a continental selection of cold meats, cheeses, breads, yoghurts, cereals etc. A hotplate of scrambled egg and frankfurters was also available.
Unfortunately when we were there the restaurant and bar were closed for the duration of our stay.
Unfortunatley

The Hotel Sant Agusti is in the perfect location in the Heart of Barcelona. Located in a side street just off la rambla it is as near to the bright lights of Barcelona as you could want but being just off the main street it is still nice and quiet.
We were greeted warmly by the hotel reception and given keys to our room (top floor as we asked, even if we could not remember asking for this).
The lift took us up and as the door opens its a lovely view down the corridor in the eaves of the roof.
The room was clean and spacious with a drinks fridge, safe, tv, radio, hairdrier, shower and bath.
There was a lovely big skylight allowing lots of natural light into the room, this gave a view across the skyline so we could see the cathedral in the distance but unfortunately we could not look down on to the square but that was not really a problem.
The hotel served what i guess could best be described as a continental breakfast with all the usual cakes, breads and meat out but there was also a choice of cereals, toast, scrambled eggs (one slice or two) and sausages along with tea, coffee and juice.
The downsides to the hotel were the thin walls dividing the rooms, the lack of tea making facilities in the room and some questionable characters hanging around the square at all times of the day but to be fair we were never bothered by anyone during our stay.
The hotel gets a thumbs up from us.

Room Tip: Don't ask for a top floor as the other rooms seemed to have a balcony to them

A great location,

At the end of the road just on La Rambla, is the underground station of Liceu. You are a 10 min walk down to the port area.
The rooms were a little small, but big enough room for a good double bed, the bathroom was clean, it was a little cold in the room at night, I did struggled with the heating/air con controls, I found the spare blankets the 2nd night, so the temperature wasn't to much of an issue.
All in all a good cheap hotel

Room Tip: They have a room to store luggage, if you arrive early or are leaving late
