I picked this hostel through hostelling international, who I used for a trip to canada which was super social and organised. When I got there the receptionist was polite but I felt like I was a bit of a nuisance or something which did leave me feeling very welcome. The information up on the walls was all out of date, they only seem to care for when summer hit. The kitchen is so very basic, it doesn't even have a proper cooker, but a hot plate that wasn't working. Breakfast was ok, filled a gap for start of day and it was pretty quiet as hostels go. I just felt alot more effort could have been made by putting up to date info on walls, it really lets down the HI hostels I have used before. Some pro's its in the middle/just of the ramblas and very close to the metro and airport drop off/pick up point. Not more than a 30 min walk to barcoleneta and is good for somewhere to sleep. If you want something more social thou go elsewhere!

This place is creepy & freak & i won't advise anyone to go there under any circumstances ..

It was a way expensive for what i paid .. no value for money at all .. because honestly i got nothing except for the location which is nearly in the center of the city ...

There is nothing called " room service" .. you collect your trash yourself ..

Wifi was not working ..

Bathroom & W.C could never have been worse ...

Of course there was no view whatsoever ...

TV was damaged ..

No table .. no chair .. no closet or cupboard .. nothing except for the bed ..

They can barely understand English ..

This is a family managed place and it is a hotel or hostel by any means .....

this hostel is indeed the most shabby, scruffy and dirty hostel my boyfriend and I have ever been to. And we always choose the cheapest ones ...
dirty beds, awful smell and completely run down rooms and facilities. I bet they didn´t clean there for the last 10 years, at least.
by the way, there are no windows in rooms and bathrooms.
disgusting hostel.
stuff isn´t able to speak english, during service hours receptionist sleeps and doesn´t open the doors...

Room Tip: none of the rooms ;)

Dirty, noisy, full of questionable people and doesn't come close to the pics or description.

I booked a single room with private bath. It was neither. The bathroom was used by several who never cleaned up after themselves. The shower was disgusting. No soap provided even at the sink and a single torn beach towel was handed at check-in. No blankets on bed and no heat. It's cheap but still not worth it.

AVOID !!

We had a nightmare experience with this "hostel". Seemed more like a cover-up for something more worse. The reception was full of shady men who clearly worked there but they weren't interested about their paying customers and the well grounded feedback.

We arrived there and first said that we need to pay more a "tourist fee" in top of the already paid in online room price. Fortunately we had printed the receipt and reasoned them that reservation terms said that thats all of the costs.

The manager said that they don't have any free rooms for us at the building, but can show us a couple of other "close by" places that are free. I went to look for the "hostel rooms" which were actually random apartments 1km away from the actual location of the hostel. Both of the places looked like a construction site workers resting places. Filled with empty beer cans, garbage, cardboard, beds unmade and dirty sheets etc. AND we booked a room for three and the second place had one double bed for two, nothing else (except the crap on tho floors).

We had a huge verbal fight and the situation felt extremely threatening for all of us. At the end the situation and the hell they put us through, they magically all of the sudden had a room from the same block with the beds for three that we paid for. The room was tolerable, hot but ok. We would have prefer to go somewhere else after all the anxiety, but didn't have a choice that time of the night and the entire city fully booked.

All of this took over 1,5 hours.

NEVER GO, you are better sleeping on the beach than under the roof of this horrific place!
