Booked to celebrate a wedding anniversary. This relatively new restaurant surpassed our expectations.
We arrived early to be shown their herb and veggie rooftop garden, a freshly picked selection was included in their visually colourful and appealing gazpacho.
Our gastronomic delight continued with a selection of Tapas.
Our selection of mains was varied , delicious and filling.
No suggestions, as part of the experience is to try different specialities.
Have a look at their culinary delights online.
Chef Fabio and hostess Roser treated us royally.
By the time we departed the restaurant was buzzing and full of aromatic atmosphere.
Service was excellent and personal.
You will not regret visiting this establishment...
... and come hungry !!

This is a very friendly with the perfect atmosphere you can find around here. Plenty of time to enjoy the best food, no rush. And enough attention not to feel alone. Would recommend this to everyone!

I've been several times in Barcelona and Mala Hierba has become a must. Incredible food, great atmosphere and perfect service. Can't wait to go again. Don't miss the squids!

Our family (my wife, my 5-year daughter and I) came to Barcelona for normal tourist adventures but Mala Hierba turned it into a gastro tour. We found it by chance because Google showed it to us a good place close to our hotel. So we went there on the day of arrival for lunch and took their business lunch menu (14 Euro selection of two meals and dessert). And it was stunning! Especially risotto with smoked sardines.
The next day (Wednesday) was cloudy with some rain, so we stayed close to the hotel and decided to make Mala Hierba our major attraction of the day. The chef was not there for lunch but the menu was still very good.
On Thursday, we took an architectural took in the city centre and then decided to finish our trip with a gastro fest at Mala Hierba again. We ordered their nine-course "try everything" menu at 55 Euro each. And it was like a paradize. Though the check was 145 Euro, we enjoyed it so much that we plan to visit this restaurant again next time we come to Barcelona. It is worth every penny!
The restaurant is owned by the couple: Rose is the hostess, and her husband is the chef. They make a perfect team to run this place. The other team members are very client friendly, too. They can explain every dish and wine with full details and make Mala Hierba an unforgettable experience.
From now on, Barcelona and Mala Hierba will come together in our hearts!
P.S. It makes sense to visit the park 150 meters below the restaurant. We fed green parrots there with bread after our lunch. It adds to the fun of visiting Mala Hierba. :-)

This is a very special place, with its own garden on the rooftop. The restaurant is casual and cosy, but the food is full of little surprises and flavour experimentation. We really enjoyed it, looking forward to coming back for more. The menu small, but quality, and there are always vegetarian options.
