A group of 8 friends stayed at this hotel on half board for 3 nights as we wanted to explore the surrounding area by bicycle. The hotel provided wonderful and safe storage for bicycles, there is parking on site, the breakfasts are just fantastic and the dinners were great also. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are really large and luxurious.

We chose the Hotel Candido because of the pool. Guess what? The pool wasn't working even though our Spanish traveling companions had called twice to confirm the pool would be functional because we were traveling with an 8 year old. Our companion made the reception desk aware and complaint was dismissed. Segovia was a beautiful city, as was the HC; however, there were small flies in all three of the guest rooms we occupied. There was a chandelier hanging near the elevator that was literally falling out of the ceiling. Otherwise, the bathroom and staterooms were clean, as was the hotel in general. The bed, however, was thin and hard. For the price of the rooms and the other comforts provided, the beds need to be improved. It was a pleasant experience but my companions and I were "sorely" disappointed by the beds.

Dear guest,
Thank you for your coment.
The outside pool opens in the middle of june because of the weather in Segovia.
All the staff know this so in not possible that the staff could say that.
The hotel is placed on the outskirts of Segovia and we have big gardens so is very probable that tyou can find small flies and others insects.
We are sorry for the bed.The matress measure 20cm and some people likes thin, others hard, others soft....
Best regards!!

We loved many aspects of this hotel. The reception area is extremely elegant. The reception people were very nice and helpful. The hotel price was only 80€ per night for us, so for this reason we were highly impressed. We went to Segovia to see Alcazar and the Aqueduct, and although the hotel was not very close to those places, we found the bus to be convenient and inexpensive. From the hotel you can take Bus 5 to the aqueduct for 1.03€. If you want casual food while at the aqueduct, there is a Burger King and there is also a McDonald's there. You can take Bus 9 to Alcazar from the aqueduct area, or you can just walk to Alcazar as we did.

The guest room is lovely, also. It has elegant curtains and paintings on the wall, so you feel a sense of old history when you are there. My two negatives:

1. One can only wonder why such a beautifully thought-out hotel has such uncomfortable beds! The mattress is very thin and hard. I did not sleep well on it.

2. We went to the swimming pool and were turned away because we didn't have a reservation to use it! Such a surprise for those of us who are used to using any pool at any time that the pool is open.

I would have given the hotel 5 stars if it had not been for the negatives.

Stayed here for two nights. Could not believe the reception/sitting area it was beautiful. I loved the lighting, the tiles, the grand piano. I felt like I was in a mega posh place. My bedroom was big, the bed was huge, lots of storage. The bathroom had a bath, double sink, separate loo and walk in shower. Very clean, nice big white towels. Breakfast was good, buffet style good selection of food. Evening meal was good, catered for me being vegetarian. Plenty of food excellent service. Yes I would stay here again.
