We hit Toledo in an early June heat wave (37 degrees plus) and boy were we glad we chose to stay here. It is truly an oasis of calm and tranquillity. After reading earlier reviews we should have been prepared for the view from the room balcony but yet we still said wow. It is that impressive. Mind you the grounds of the hotel with its terraces, fountains and beautiful tended gardens aren't far behind. There is also a lovely and very welcome pool and the rooms have great charm. The hotel is walkable from Toledo but personally I would recommend the bus (it leaves from a stop about 100 yards from the hotel on the hour and returns from the Alcazar at 45 minutes past the hour until 9.45 pm). Or take a taxi - only 6 euros. Toledo is a truly a delight and this hotel matches it. And, yes the staff at the hotel and friendly and charming as well and we were made most welcome.

Room tip: Every room is equally wonderful.

This hotel is away from tourist attractions, you would need some transportation. Rooms are ok, tough nothing special. Don't expect much from breakfast. Staff was friendly. The place feels more like a motel.

We enjoyed our night here. The room was spacious and from the balcony we had excellent views of the old town which is a ten minute walk away. The hotel is in a quiet and peaceful setting. Amenities were adequate and the breakfast was tasty.

Firstly the hotel is in a well appointed location in so far as the views across to the old city were fabulous. All rooms seem to have balconies over looking the city. Again views from bar and restaurant were good. A downside of the location is the distance, if you are walking, to the old city it is a good 25 mins and quite a steep climb when you enter the city walls. However a taxi is about 6 euros and worth it. The hotel has a rustic charm and is quite traditional. The reception staff were helpful but not overly friendly you could walk through reception (which is quite small) without being acknowledged. The rooms are disappointing they are traditional in décor with wooden ceiling and beams, and although they have TV, A/C and mini bar they seem basic and beds were not very comfortable. Our room was not particularly clean with very dusty ceiling and skirting boards. The floor was dirty and walking without shoes you got bits stuck to your feet. The bathroom definitely needed refurbishment. It is only a 3 star hotel so some allowance re the rooms can be made but not the cleanliness. Breakfast for us was adequate and what we expected in a 3 star hotel in Spain, a cold selection of fruit, yogurts, ham, cheese and eggs with pastries and bead/toast with orange juice, tea and coffee. All this said I think the hotel is value for money in terms of its views if nothing else. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the menu looked good and prices were certainly reasonable compared to prices in the old city.

Nice hotel near the city, easy to walk to centre, nice pool. Reception guy looked so serious and moody, but did the job ok I guess our room was next to reception so we didn't need help, the cleaning ladies were lovely and courteous and only 2 people served in the restaurant, one was lovely and very helpful, the other one was moody and a bit lazy really, we asked her for a table outside and she asked if we booked when we said no she gave us a table inside as if she was doing us a huge favour, all tables outside apart from 2 were empty and had few empty glasses on them we stayed for a couple of hours and nobody used those table, so we could have had one after all. Next night we booked a table and person at reception said just turn up not asking for room number nor number of people or time for the booking, when I asked why she said we didn't need there's room for all,not what we were the night before.
Food was delicious and great value, we had the tester menu and was fabulous, very good value for money apart from breakfast.
Will not stay there again but will probably eat at the restaurant.
