We had stayed in Puerto de la Cruz in April of 2017 and saw hotel vallemar and the views so we decided to book it for this year. We paid for a sea view room which we got (but we were also told we had been upgraded) which wasn’t the case as we paid extra for this. The sea views were probably the only thing positive about this place. The interior was very dated throughout the hotel, the staff were very unfriendly and barely smiled at you except for a waiter called David and a waitress called Laura thank you guys! The hotel had mainly Dutch people staying there which were also very unfriendly. On day three I looked through my suitcase and found the cleaners name badge deep in between my clothes. Horrified!! We then went down to reception to report this and were treated with a “what can we do” attitude. We were left with no answer no explanation and the receptionists also started to tell us how good of a worker the cleaner was and that she was there for years, which really did not matter. The receptionists assured us that they would give our room a call with an explanation which did not happen. So we ended up not letting the cleaners in for the rest of our stay as we did not feel safe to let them in. When I saw the cleaners on the corridors I went out to ask for some clean towels and was once again greeted by a terrible attitude I had to bring them into the room to prove put towels were dirty!! On our last day I ended up bumping into the “director” manager. I asked her for a word and she started off with “I have very little English”. So nothing was resolved there either. I was handed her card and told if we were coming back that she would give us her best “rates”. We will NEVER go back there!! I have never been so badly treated in a hotel ever, the costumer service was nowhere to be seen. It really did ruin our trip as we had been so excited to stay there. I would stay well away from this hotel, unless you want a cleaner going through your stuff! Luckily we had a safe so nothing important went missing. STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL VALLEMAR!

We would like to inform you that your reservations was in sea view room and at the arrival we upgrade you to Deluxe room, that´s why the reception told you the upgrade. Also inform you that the name badge goes with a magnet, that probably has falled into you bag when she was cleaning the room, not because the cleaners wold stole you, or check your things, it was just an accident.

Friendly, helpful staff at check in, decent sized room with balcony and seaview, very good breakfast. Great location in central P de la Cruz so only a short walk to restaurants and bars. Pool closed during our stay but offered use of pool in adjacent hotel. Overall excellent value for money. Parking potentially problematic but managed to get a space in their nearby underground garage (euro 5/day)

We recently stayed here for two weeks we asked for a high floor and arrived very late and told we were on second floor which was noisy so had to move the next day this was fourth floor but near all the work
Restaurant lay out good and breakfast too but the chef on at breakfast needs to be a bit more guest friendly doesnt smile or speak to guests
Most people seem to eat out at night so problem is the food is not hot which we really like
Not sure if we would return

Room Tip: Definitely a sea view room we looked out to high rise flats

Had a week here. Positives, good location with many rooms having an ocean view.
Negatives - shabbiest hotel interior I have seen in a long time, corridors & rooms so dated & battered looking although admittedly clean. Pool closed entire week we stayed (surprisingly failed to mention this when we booked) Staff vary from very friendly to downright surly. Breakfast OK but no variety. Would not stay again.

Very nice big hotel, in excellent location. Very good
Breakfast. Clean, big rooms and bathroom.
Only one kind of soup- no shampoos.
Good service. Many restaurants around the hotel,
The promenade is just infront. If the room is facing
The sea you have wonderful view but there is
A lot of music noise till late at night. Ask for high flore.
We had to leave for our flight at 05:30 AM, and they
Offer us to have cold breakfast at 5AM.
Finally- recommended hotel also to families with
Children.
