I pre-booked a 5-hike package for mid April, choosing hikes and dates well before flying out to La Palma (5 hikes over six days) and I was impressed with the overall arrangements, quality and friendliness of the guides, their multi-lingual skills and detailed knowledge of the beautiful island. I loved La Palma's mountains and volcanoes steeply rising above the ocean, the ever changing weather (you would not expect anything different on a small, mountainous island in the Atlantic Ocean) and therefore I can easily live with having missed some amazing views during the walks due to low lying clouds. The company makes it very clear what is being offered, the travel time to reach the trailheads, the length of the walks, the difficulties (if any) of the terrain and the alternatives that can be chosen on certain walks (shorter vs longer, i.e. medium vs strenuous). In conclusion, very good levels of professionalism and amiability.

Went on the Sky of La Palma Bus sight seeing touring - Amazing views driving right to the top of the island to the Calderia! It was around 1 hour and 30 minutes of winding roads at an incline so please all be wary if you experience any travel sickness - i unfortunately didnt think of this and had to use pressure point tricks to keep the sickness at bay! We visited three different towns - Tazacorte , El Time and Puntagorda. Went into a little Farmers market and various different shops. This tour is hugely about sitting on a coach and looking out the window but it is also great to be able to see all the sights! Through out the entire tour the guide was speaking multiple languages to keep everyone informed of history and information about the island. Would have been nice to get out a little more often and for a little longer but it would have made the day a little too long! This tour started at 9.45am and we returned at 5.15pm. food and drink were not included so bring your own or buy at the stops!
The Calderia is extremely windy and wet so take a coat hat and anything else you have!!

We have been to La Palma for the 4th time already. Three years ago we already did the Great Volcano tour and the Caldera hike. This year we did the same again.
The tours were great! Special thanks to the guides Jonas, Peter and Anna-Marie. Everything was perfectly organized and we were lucky with the weather too!
If you come to La Palma don't miss these tours, especially the Great Volcano Tour is a must.

We booked a Natour 3 walks package in advance, but due to poor weather the walk we most wanted to do, The Top of the Island, was not possible. Also, our second choice, The Springs, was not possible because of a collapsed path, to be re-opened in April. It would have been useful if Natour had made this clear on their website. Our 3rd choice, Lava, Wine and Tapas was very good, with a minor variation in route since the whole of the Island's network of paths was officially shut, some paths having been affected by heavy rain & high winds, with fallen trees etc. The walk was well organised with frequent short stops for our very well informed guide to tell us about the lava flow and vegetation. The Paella was very tasty. Our second walk was Volcanoes and Bodega - also very good. With 5 groups walking, sorted according to language, the organisation was again good and our guide was excellent. The Bodega was rustic and we tried a local red wine with a most unusual taste, due to its ageing in pine barrels. For our third walk we decided to try the Wild North. Since this was the only walk offered that day there were 80 people in 2 coaches.. After a most scenic drive of 1.5h with fantastic views (best from the righthand side of the coach) in near perfect weather, we reached a village bar for a loo break. With only a single men's and single lady's toilet this took about 30 min! Natour had hoped that the National Network of paths would be re-opened but it was still closed so we were told that we would do a similar walk to that advertised. We had a long walk on a forest track, just like the one we had done on our second walk, then we took a path along the edge of cultivated land where there was little of interest. No cliff walk, no wild flowers, no dramatic barranco, no picturesque village - very disappointing. We finished with a visit to a visitor centre where there was a good display about the about the prehistoric stone markings on rock faces, which we then saw by following a short trail.. Natour is well run, with good guides and very comfortable coaches. We had no idea that La Palma's footpath network could be shut at the stroke of the pen! We met an English family who had used the paths, not knowing that they were closed and encountered no serious problems. If La Palma wants to encourage walking it needs to rethink how to deal with bad weather.

Enough said, went on two guided walking tours, knowledgeable guides, lovely walks. You can also hike independently if you wish.
