Our guide, Peter, speaking English and Dutch during our 6.5hr Caldera tour was brilliant, made it totally memorable, fun, informative and went so far as to ensure we got our expensive DSLR camera back the following day by liaising with park rangers who went and found it with all our precious memories when we left it, stupidly, during a break. Me and the two others were (fit) beginners and though we were sore the following day it was so invigorating we finished with a sprint. Again, thank you Peter!

I signed up for a package of 5 hikes in 5 days. The best hike was "The Springs" as it went thru both pine and laurel forests and was in shade all day long. It went thru 13 tunnels next to a water canal (watch out for tunnel 12). Their tour guides know many languages and explain about things in what the group needs. One tour guide talked in Spanish, German, Dutch, and English as our group had people from 6 countries. They are well organized with the use of various kinds of buses and cafe stops at ends of hikes. The hike on the top rim of the volcano crater was spoiled by the brown skies due to the dust/sand from the Sahara desert; so visibility was poor. The ratings of their hikes (easy to strenuous) was spot on. Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours (total) on buses getting to and coming back from the actual hikes -- the roads have lots of switchbacks and hairpin turns as there are lots of ravines and ridges.

On a recent trip to La Palma our group did 4 walks with Natour. Walks were spectacular, varied and challenging with well organised transport and an excellent guide who was really knowledgable and passsionate about the island.

we had a great time on both tours we did with Natour, Sunday's Caldera tour had to be postponed as it had rained and it was actually dangerous to do, but they offered an alternative tour on the same day to the very southern tip of the island, where the weather was better. We hadn't actually planned to go to that bit of the island but it turned out to be a great day. The Wild North tour did happen and I can very much recommend it, you hike through a steep ravine covered in thick woodland and eventually emerge in a wild coastal scenery, the second 'b' part of the walk is optional and quite hard going, you hike down this wild barranco and then go back up again all the way up to above El Tablado, but I'm glad I did it, it was magical. All the guides were very knowledgable, friendly, spoke several languages and respected people's walking speeds and abilities, while also making sure everything went according to the schedule. Both walks were really great and I probably wouldn't have done them, or it would have been difficult to arrange, and we also met some nice people in the groups, so I very much think it's worth doing. We didn't have a car and stayed mostly in the North West corner of the island where they couldn't pick you up anymore, so it's worth checking beforehand how to get to the walks. I got some excellent advice via email beforehand!

We decided the Natour island tours may be the best way to get around and see what was on offer on La Palma when we arrived.

We did the Monday tour of the south of the island and really enjoyed the day! We were the only English speaking people on board but this was more than accommodated for with reserved seats at the front of the bus and the guide often turning round to tell us more info in English, she also switched between 4 languages which was very impressive!

The tour itself took us to small craft shops, gave the opportunity for short walks and finished the day in style by taking us up to an incredible view point in the national park.

All in all very worth doing and I would like to thank Natour for their service!
