just come back from a 2 night city break. small and quirky centrally located hotel. very clean, good eye for small details and indeed different to standard, large chain hotels.. but that is the reason to book this surely? i had a large room on the first floor, no noise (but it wasn't famous canaries carnival week!), small bathroom but thats fine..... only negative issues were my shower could leak water at times and breakfast was not the best; especially the service! receptionists were great though and i will return!

Room tip: first floor as no bar above?

The hotel is located right on Santa Catalina park and Calle Ripoche, the pedestrian street. Several great local restaurants around the corner, La Bulla and Clandestino. The science museum is across the park, the bus station (with easy connections to anywhere on the island) is one block away. The beautiful city beach is about 3 blocks away. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke English fluently. The included breakfast was limited, but you can upgrade to a more robust breakfast for about $2. One very important warning: the location is LOUD until about 2am on weekends. Bring earplugs!!!

A really lovely room in a hotel with character in a great location.
All the staff at reception (Elizabeth particularly) were very helpful with info about the hotel and how to get around and were friendly every time we passed by the desk.
The room was very spacious and it was nice to have the little kitchen and be able to make tea and coffee. We enjoyed some time on the roof terrace as well just enjoying some peace and quiet.
The only very slight disappointment for us was the breakfast - everywhere else we stayed we had some sort of buffet, but here, we had to choose from a very limited menu.

We arrived just before 10pm on Tuesday 10th October. A very friendly and helpful young man checked us in and gave us loads of information on restaurants, buses etc. Unfortunately I did not get his name!
Our room, a superior double, was on the first floor overlooking Santa Catalina Park. A spacious room, very modern, nice decor, loved the hanging rail suspended from the ceiling instead of a wardrobe. Only a shower in the bathroom but that was fine. It would have been good to have tea/coffee in yuor room but there was a coffee corner on each floor. The park can be quite noisy but after midnight it is a lot quieter.
The roof top terrace bar was open on the Wednesday evening as it was a Bank Holiday the next day. Good views from up here.
We didn't have breakfast but we did have a late lunch on the Thursday at the Catalina which is below the hotel. This was very good. The burgers were to die for and the waitress was very friendly.
The hotel is in a great location, close to the bus station and only a 10 min walk to the beach.
We loved the quirkiness and friendly vibe to this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
