Have been to La Gomera many times but this was my 1st meal here. It always is busy and I know why.
I had the beef carpaccio appetizer and the duck confit for dinner. Both were excellent
Others had the cod and it was very good also.
Salamanders is my favorite place but this is a close 2nd

The restaurant is small and always fully booked, so getting in was the first challenge. Finally we got a table but as said here before, all the tables are outside and in a cold, windy night that is not the most pleasant way to enjoy your dinner. The menu is short but well considered, except that there were few gluten-free options available and nothing gluten-free for dessert. Friendly, but a bit hasty service.

This restaurant alone would be a reason to come to San Sebastian La Gomera. It is a bistro, but everything is so well thought of and innovative that it would survive in any European city. Wines, food, spirits, service, it all is brilliant.

The restaurant is really popular and they don't really advertise their holidays, so be prepared. Book a table if you want to get one.

The tables are outside so when it is cold, wear warm.

Our second time in San Sebastian and our fourth time at La Forastera - never a disappointment.

French bistro style. There are only a few tables, so booking is essential. The tables are on the pavement in the street with very limited illumination, and on the evening we were there it was cold and windy, so not ideal. The menu is not extensive, but this is French cuisine at its best, good quality ingredients, properly cooked, well presented, and served by helpful friendly staff. Definitely not the cheapest meal in San Sebastien, but probably the best. Recommend without hesitation.

Only a few tables so essential to book. Don't be put off by reading the menu boards when they are closed. There is a wider variety of dishes available. We ate there 3 times and every meal was excellent. The waiters were pleasant and attentive and my one small criticism was that I would have liked the cod skin removed in the tagine. Even so it was delicious.
