Clean, friendly and the owner waited for us when we arrived after the 2030 reception close time.
For what we paid, we were impressed with the room, we had a top floor room and the views of the atlantic were amazing, great watching the arm as ferry and Fred Olsen cat coming and going. The hill to town is a bit of a toughy, we did it twice a day, during our three night stay and the calfs are now solid!
I would recommend this apartment, but you may need a car if you stayed for a long period of time.
The fireworks on New Year's Eve were spectacular and these guys certainly know how to party on nye. All supermarkets closed on New Year's Day, but we found a souvenir shop that sold water etc
We will return. Now in playa Santiago, as staying in two places on la Gom

Room tip: Best views from top rooms

Reasonable price and size for two person who stayed 7 nights. We checked in an apartment with balcony which is supergood when you like to eat breakfast with sunlight and seaview. Location is quite high you must prepare your strong knee and legs when you walk down to restaurants and supermarkets. Standard apartment with dramatic view from the window and balcony .
Our last days was quite windy and rainy weather so our main door got a little flood there. We fixed it with handtowels and map. Anotherwise it was good place.

Room tip: Avoid that first upper room with stairs outside specially if the weather is super windy and raining, the water comes in under the door.

I just arrived back from a wonderful stay at Apartamentos Chijere, in time for Christmas. Would happily have stayed longer, but family and work was waiting! My husband joined me for the first week and my niece the second. They both enjoyed the apartment, surroundings, the helpful and friendly host and La Gomera. We had the upstairs apartment closest to the ocean, which was great, very peaceful and relaxing. No noise, plenty of room for two, a nice terrace and the most wonderful view! It was great to sit outside with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise and Teide with lots of snow on the top, and sailboats enjoying the wind, the ferries coming in from Tenerife. It is very convenient and there is even a washing machine in a little room by the pool. Makes it easy to travel with less luggage. Cleaning was perfect, we got plenty of nice and clean towels, and we slept well! Parking a rental car is also easy on the property, however we did not rent a car this time as our main purpose was to relax after a stressful year at work, and also walk as much as possible. The walk down to town is easy. Lots of shops and good places to eat! Cheap!! Few tourists and very authentic, which we really enjoy. A new SPAR shop opened close to the Apartamentos Chijere a few days before we left. They have all the food, wine and beer you might need for a relaxing time in La Gomera, but try the restaurants as well! I wanna go back!!!

Room tip: The sun conditions are great on the up-stair apartment closest to the ocean.

We stayed here for New Year 2011/2012, four of us travelled, so we took two apartments. One on the ground floor and one on above. Did all the cooking and sitting out in my apartment by the pool. Two rings on the hob, a microwave and an oven - so plan your meals, but it wasn't a struggle and we ate well.

Squeaky beds in the bedroom (metal framed - never good!) so me and my daughter slept on the sofa bed in the lounge - which separates into two bed. This wasn't a problem, only possible though because there were only two of us in the apartment and not four.

Lovely location, a healthy, but manageable and steady walk to the village. Or just set off for a stroll from the accommodation to the light house and surrounding area.

We had a car, so enjoyed exploring the island - if you have time plan to do some walking, lots and lots of marked paths.

Thoroughly and absolutely recommend this accommodation and island - even over New Year we had hot, hot days and cool evenings/nights.

Room tip: There's only two floors, no lift, you're either next to the pool or overlooking it!
