After a couple of small issues to overcome when we arrived, which we understand the Landlord has since rectified, the stay proved to be very relaxing, exactly what we needed after a hectic year in the UK. The villa is very clean, well appointed and with great views of the local volcanic landscape, a perfect breakfast view for the dawn rising over the hills from either the master bedroom terrace or back garden - a perfect view at any time of day, come to that.
A couple of things to bear in mind if you are a couple with no kids (as we are !!) - we went in November, outside the high season, and as such it was very quiet with practically no villas occupied. This is exactly what we wanted however we would imagine in high season, with all / most of the 200 or so villas occupied and water park / pools in full use, it would be a rather more noisy affair with many children doing what they do best - being noisy ! And if you are tall we also found that the kitchen, whilst very well appointed and very well planned into the open-plan lounge is quite low in places and at anything approaching 6ft the stairs and hob extract often cause you to bump your head.
Neither of these are big issues, they just need to be borne in mind when booking the villa.
Overall - a great experience that we would repeat if we were looking to go back to Fuerteventura.
We enjoyed our stay at this villa. A clean, comfortable, very well equipped home with a family feel, on a large, though mostly unoccupied, development between Lajares and the north coast. There are lovely views of the mountains from the back of the house. The swimming pool which is nearby would be very nice in summer (we were there in December). Restaurants and shops at Lajares are within easy reach by car. We tended to use the beaches of El Cotillo which are reachable by car. There is a nice garden with sun loungers, which is very private when the house next door is not occupied. The location is a bit unusual, since it is not in a village, but you can get most things in Lajares.

Stayed at Villa Gecko for Three Weeks in January / February. The Villa is well equipped and was clean and tidy for our arrival . Very peaceful location although part of large complex, and very quiet during our stay. Very close to Majanicho fishing village and surfing beach. If you're after some peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful scenery then I would highly recommend this place. On-site swimming pools and tennis courts. Easy 20 minute drive into Corralejo to sample the " bright lights" . Everything on the island is a short car trip away and petrol is very cheap.
