In the heart of Palma this beautiful hotel is housed in a 1700's building complete with grand staircase.

The courtyard setting alongside the bar and breakfast area provide a relaxed space just steps from al the hustle of the city. In addition there are at least three separate seating areas where you can sit and read or chat with other guests -- very relaxed. The breakfast was included and was varied and interesting

My room which you entered through a small door cut into the much larger original door had a four poster bed with a very comfortable mattress. The view through the two Juliet balconies was onto the courtyard below. The bathroom ultra modern. Air Con was a retro fit, but worked adequately to keep me cool

The staff were great - Cesar, Enrique et al -- were the perfect hosts. They made the hotel a great place to be. Very customer focused, but not in that dull management trained way you experience in larger corporate hotel chains.

If you like your hotels with character this charming hotel in the heart of Palma is for you

We recently stayed at this elegant hotel for 3 nights in room 1. It was a standard double and was a huge room with very tasteful furnishings and an equally huge bathroom. We had a view onto the courtyard where the superb buffet breakfast could be taken. Unfortunately if anyone was having an early breakfast we could hear the metal chairs scraping the ground which woke us as we slept with the windows open. It was situated in a narrow street off the Passeig de Born but in a quiet position very close to the main area for bars, restaurants and shops. The staff were helpful and our cases were carried to our room. One disappointment was the bar was closed on Sundays (our last night!) which we weren’t told about on arrival. Nevertheless it didn’t ruin our stay.

Have stayed at several cute boutique style hotels in Palma. Born isn't one of them. Palma is expensive, and Born is on the less pricey end of the scale, but still not cheap. I would describe it as a tourist or charter class hotel.

But I'll begin with the positives:
-Good location, nice tapas place right next door.
-Changed our room on arrival, since the one they gave us to begin with was completely unacceptable
-Nice courtyard for breakfast
-Clean
-Good air conditioning
-Our room had a modern bathroom
-Great water pressure, really outstanding

On the negative side:
-Run down, in need of paint and new furnishings
-Double beds were hard as futons, and kept gliding apart...not couples friendly
-Thin, thin doors, you can hear everything
-2nd class breakfast buffé, like an American airport motel
-No luggage storage (they tell you to leave everything in the lounge, unguarded)
-No charm, not romantic
-Absolutely inappropriate for people who have trouble walking, climbing. No handicap access

Room Tip: Don't let them put you in the back "standard" rooms

Very nice room, spatious. Friendly staff. Common area beautiful and breakfast area very pleasant. The breakfast was simple but very nice, fresh croissants and various pastries, selection of meats and cheese, very good coffee. There was a bad sell coming from the bathroom pipes, but I don't think the hotel can do anything about it, as it is an old building. It didn't prevent us from enjoying our stay anyway. Overall very lovely place and will definitely recommend this hotel.

I have been staying in this family run Hotel for the past 10 years on business trips. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but it ticks all the boxes for me. It sits in a side street across the road from Bar Bosch at the busy intersection of Passeig del Born & Av. de Jaume 111. Here you can catch buses to virtually any part of the island especially beaches. The Hotel itself is very traditional and the building is of great Architectural heritage dating back to the 16th Century. The Hotel rooms have just had a make over and I think they have made a lovely job especially the redesigned spacious bathrooms. The rooms vary from large spacious ones to small intimate rooms, I’ve stayed in them all and had no problems with any of them. Breakfast is typical Mediterranean mix of croisons, breads, cheeses, Spanish hams, fruits, cereal and the famous Majorcan ensaïmada. You can eat inside or out on the enclosed terrace. No swimming pool, so if this is important to you then this is not the hotel for you. Also they have just introduced Nespresso machines in each room for you to make Italian espresso coffee!
