You will have to go a long way to beat this one for comfort and overall experience. Breakfast is more than adequate to fuel you up to wander around Palma's old town and along the promenade. Hiring a bike is an exhilarating way to do this.

We had the loveliest stay at the Boutique Hotel Can Cera. Our room was located on the second floor and was extremely spacious with a king size bed and beautiful wooden furniture. The bathroom was about five steps down and it too was extra large, with a deep soaking tub and separate shower, and double sinks. The rooms were very clean and very tastefully decorated. We loved that the large, carved wooden doors still use real iron keys. There were so many charming details like this.

The hotel also has a small roof terrace. We were provided a complimentary bottle of sparkling rose upon arrival, and toasted on the roof loungers, which we had to ourselves. The hotel generally was very quiet and peaceful. There is also a spa, but we did not use it.

Service was excellent. There were always many attendants at the front desk who speak the local language along with Spanish, German, and English. They made themselves available to help with every need.

The hotel is located in the old city center of Palma, so getting there by car was quite tricky-- we had to park in a nearby square and then one of us walked to the hotel where a receptionist came out to our car and drove with us to the hotel's garage, but due to the nature of tiny, angular streets, it is a very tricky drive. We got used to it, but either rent the smallest car you can or don't rent at all.

We'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a week at this hotel and would happily return. The location is just about perfect, just a few minutes walk from the bustle of old Palma, yet in a quiet area. The hotel is full of old style charm and the owners have succeeded in retaining the grandeur of bygone days with lots of relaxing common spaces that have kept faithful to the traditional style of what has been a very impressive house for several centuries.
From the outset, the staff were warm, friendly and very informative in helping us to make the most of our time in Palma. The bedroom was spacious and clean with very effective air conditioning - a must in 30 degree heat.
The rooftop served as a small solarium with 4 sun beds and the basement housed a small, but very high quality spa area with Jacuzzi; sauna and steam room that could be reserved with an hour's notice.
The hotel restaurant was set in the courtyard and was popular with both residents and others. We had meals there on 2 nights and while pricey, the food was top quality and beautifully presented - the patatas bravas were a work of art!
Breakfast selection was just OK with enough variety to keep most people happy, but nothing special for a hotel in this price bracket. The grill which was used for toasting was probably the slowest machine I have ever seen.
Hotels located in historic urban areas usually do have to make compromises, and Can Cera was no exception. There wasn't much to see out of the windows and very little by way of balconies and no external space. But I have to give the owners credit for the way they have made use of the space they have and we really did not miss the lack of facilities - with one exception: we would have loved to have tea or coffee making in our room.
Overall, Can Cera is a gorgeous hotel with staff to match.

TIP: We flew into Palma airport and pre-booked a taxi to the hotel with Holiday Taxis at a cost of £32. We felt a bit ripped off when the taxi meter showed 12 euro at the end of our trip. On the way home we booked a taxi through the hotel at a total cost of 12 euros plus 5 euros booking fee door-to-door.

I have just returned from a short 2 night stay at this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff are just the nicest hotel staff I have encountered in a long while. The hotel itself is beautiful with a lovely little roof terrace (just 4 sun loungers) although there was no one up there when we went up. Our bedroom was lovely and the bed incredibly comfortable.

My only small suggestion for improvement would be that there was no coffee making facilities in the room. I stay in Palma every year and this is the first time I have encountered this.

I would definitely love to come back and stay here again.

We stayed here at the end of our trip to Europe, excellent hotel with a lot of history, very quiet and away from the crowds. The only suggestion would be to request a suite that doesn't face the street as there was a lot of noise at night even though the shutters were closed. Would definitely stay here again.

Dear Peter S,

We are happy to read that we were a good ending for your trip to Europe!

We are in the heart of the historical city, but not on one of the main roads, what keeps us away from the bustle of the traffic.

I am very sorry if the pedestrian street where we are located was a bit noisy for you. We do have rooms facing both to the street and to our majorcan patio, so just let us know your preferences on your next stay and we will be happy to allocate you a room facing the inside!

Just contact us when planning your next visit to Palma, as we would love to have you staying with us again!
