Booked at short notice. This hotel is a longish but scenic walk from the centre. There is parking on the streets around and it was easy to find space at a weekend. We had a spotless if small room facing the road. Very worryingly the window did not have a safety catch and its proximaty to the bed would have made this very dangerous for small children. Reception staff are surly and unwelcoming. Decorated in a stark urban style this hotel feels austere and a touch off putting.

What a great hotel. Although slightly away from the centre of town its in a quiet location and a nice stroll away down the path alongside the river. Staff are very friendly, hotel is spotlessly clean, and rooms / beds very comfortable. Breakfast was great.

We stayed here only one night en route via San Sebastian and we were travelling by train. This was about a 15-20 min walk from the train station on a walkway next to the river so although it wasn't very close by, it wasn't too bad as we did not have a lot of luggage. The reception area is small and basic, staffed only by one person but she was very friendly and told us that we had been upgraded to a premium room as the hotel was very full. There was a lift available and our room was near the end of the passageway, it had a small window with a view of the river so it was reasonably quiet. It is possible that rooms on the opposite side (next to a main road) will experience some traffic noise. Although the room was small, it was equipped with all the basics - fridge and safe, and it was very clean. It had a new, freshly-refurbished look and the beds were comfortable, and wi-fi was at a decent speed. However, the biggest problem was probably how poor the sound proofing was between rooms. We could hear the guests murmuring in the next room - they weren't even having a loud conversation, but the walls must have been so thin that every noise is audible, including toilets flushing, the bathroom extractor fan etc. and even snoring in the middle of the night!
Although there are some restaurants across on the other side of the river, this hotel is located about 20-25 mins walk away from where most of the city nightlife happens... so perhaps this is only ideal if you want to stay away from the city centre and don't mind walking. It suited our needs reasonably well although we would have preferred something a little closer to the train station. The biggest downside was definitely the noise from other rooms, and knowing that your neighbours can probably listen in to your conversations!

Room tip: Make sure your room faces the river and not the main road.

the Urumea was ideal for a 3 night stay. good location walkable into the old town and nearby bus stop. The room was just clean and just big enough, bed delightfully spacious and comfy, the bathroom and shower perfect. The staff were always welcoming and helpful.

Room tip: 2nd floor facing river was quiet enough

It's actually quite a good hotel. The rooms and clean and modern. All the staff are extremely helpful and the breakfast buffet is excellent. But .... the rooms are very small and the hotel is quite a walk from town. It is actually a bit of a walk to any facilities (bars, restaurants or cafes). There is no cafe or bar at the hotel and no room service. It's not much fun sitting in your room and everything is so far away, it just didn't feel like a good place to stay. I think it would be a perfect place to stay for a business trip but maybe not for a holiday.
