We liked the location of this hotel. It was right in the middle of everything! Walking distance to the old town, Riberia market, the theatre, the main shopping district and even the Guggenheim museum. Tram station nearby too. Short walk to the river. Also next to a Desigual shop and Bilbao’s most famous chocolate shop is one minute away.
Breakfast was average. Beds are comfortable. Free shoe shine machine and video games machine (street fighter!!) on the ground floor and basement. Nice bar area to hang out at.
What we did not like:
1) tiny tiny gym with no window, consisting of 1 threadmill, 1 elliptical machine, 1 stationary bicycle and 1 set of free weights with one regular bench.
2) weird flashing colorful lights in the room! Light color changes every second which I found particularly annoying
3) loud throbbing music till late, even on a weekday! It’s a Wednesday night now, 10.26pm to be precise, and the bar on the top floor hasn’t stopped blasting music. While I understand that the people here don’t sleep so early and have late dinners, this is a hotel nonetheless and guests need rest. If you’re sensitive to noise and bass beats, don’t stay on the 7th floor.
4) weird colorful wall murals at the lift landing. Artistic to some but definitely not to me.
5) no bell boy to assist with luggages. We hauled our huge luggages up and down on our own, which we didn’t mind, but it’s lacking this service touchpoint
