We happened on this restaurant thanks to a Spanish local friend whom we first met in Zaragoza. It's in a quiet street just off the main centre, but it is anything but quiet itself. It was pretty full within the restaurant and on the pavement outside. And not surprising because the welcome from the manager and staff was warm and the tapas is fantastic, We had a real variety of meat, fish, and vegetables in very nice portions and we ate pleasantly over a couple of hours. The manager was most helpful in suggesting other tapas dishes we should try, and we washed it down with very drinkable Spanish wine also recommended by the manager. I am not normally a frequent or keen tapas eater, but this meal was very good and will be well worth a return visit. By the way, it was very late evening when we left, but it seemed they were ready to go on for several more hours of the night!

Came across this great little restaurant in Zaragoza. Had some beautiful tapas and salad.

If you are staying nearby then this is a definite recommendation.

This is our best discovery this year. Although apparently a classic, we had never been here.

Don't miss sea urchins au gratin! Snails also looked amazing. Even simple Russian salad was really good.

We'll be back...

The best waiters in town, very good tapas and “raciones” or more sophisticated menús with a wonderful “lechazo” (roasted milk-fed baby lamb) that comes from Aranda de Duero, the craddle of this dish, and a great terrace always full of life and heated in winter months. A real classic with more than forty years of life.

I airrived around 11 pm and the Bar San Siro was full of people both eating and drinking but not at least talking. I don’t think anybody speaks more and loader than the Spanish and I just love the ambiance and atmosphere of a lively place.

I ended up sitting in bar as everything else was occupied. I ordered a beer and was served a beer in an iced glass together with the traditional piece of tapas. It was a great place to hang out and it didn’t take long before I was talking to the waiter and soon after with some locals. It was just the place to hang out; good Ambar beers in different kinds from the tap, nice tapas, friendly staffs and funny and sweet customers.
