Slightly late with this review, despite having plenty of time on our hands. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in this beautiful city. We took a taxi from Seville airport, which wasn't too expensive, nor too long a drive, and this was the best thing to do; the streets of Seville are full of character, but they are narrow and confusing and so I wouldn't have wanted us traipsing through with suitcases and getting lost. As it was, the taxi dropped us off right outside (although the road is so narrow I would not have liked to been driving).
Check in was relaxed and easy. There is no desk in a lobby, but an elegant and comfortable seating area where we given refreshing drinks whilst we went through the formalities. They were quickly sorted, and we were shown our room in the annex. This is just on the opposite side of the aforementioned (narrow) road; a matter of a few paces, don't be put off by this.
Our room was comfortable. There was a small sofa which was converted into a bed for our son, and there was plenty of space for the three of us. Access was easy, and there was a small lift for those who would struggle with stairs. We were ovelooking a courtyard/light well. It wasn't a view as such, but it was nice and quiet. The bathroom was amazing. There was a...Slightly late with this review, despite having plenty of time on our hands. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in this beautiful city. The bathroom was amazing. There was a double rain shower with a glass wall into another light well, and decent toiletries were available. There was also a mini-kitchenette within a wardrobe, which was a nice touch.
The "main building" is where there was a bar, the rooftop terrace (the rooftop was an honesty bar... possibly the main one, too), and the breakfast room. The service was always top notch, with staff friendly, welcoming and helpful, and good with our young son. Breakfast was a good spread, brought to your table, and set us up for the day.
The location was perfect for us. Nearly everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. There were so many restaurants and the like nearby (and every recommendation from the staff at the hotel was top notch, and they were helpful getting us reservations for a number of places). We took a couple of trips (one to Cordoba by train, one to Ronda in a hire car), and the station was just about walking distance, or less than ten minutes by taxi. We preferred walking much of the time, as with a map you got to see much more of this lovely city. Need bookings for taxis or attractions? The hotel were happy to help out (and we would recommend this for must-see places like the Real Alcazar, otherwise you will spend hours queuing, with no guarantee of entry).
Would we stay in this hotel again? Without hesitation. It was welcoming, comfortable, brilliantly located and staffed by warm and helpful people.More
