My wife and stayed here for three nights for a mid-week break. The welcome we received on arrival was very warm and friendly and the two receptionist took time to talk us through the highlights to take in over our three days. We were escorted to our room and were in awe as we walked through the hotel and took in the numerous little courtyards with pools and fountains. The room was simple but suited us perfectly and we appreciated the free bottle of red wine even if we never found time to drink it. The hotel is beautiful, the staff helpful, the location convenient and I have no problem wholeheartedly recommending it.

Most of the other reviews are correct in their own way, we were four couples and found each room to be slightly different, some better, some worse but our overall experience was wonderful!
True there is no lifts but the hotel staff did offer to carry our luggage. The stairs are on the steep side but perfectly manageable for our ageing group. The rooms were all spotlessly clean with a small kitchenette, the bathrooms were a little dated but 'quaint' is the word I would use. The small courtyards are great along with the rooftop seating area. Grab that bottle of wine and hit the roof for sunset!
From the hotel it is about a 15 minute walk to the centre through a labyrinth of small streets.
When we come back we will stay here again.

I really wanted to love this Hotel but it is very very average. It is old and needs updating. The beds are uncomfortable, the bathrooms are so outdated and have peeling paint and weird water pressure and the furniture in the room is very uncomfortable. If you are on an upper floor, be prepared to climb stairs - there is no elevator. You feel like you are in old town Spain no doubt but it is really bare bones. When someone across the hall closed a door - you heard it. I did love the courtyards with lots of plants and the beautiful tiles lining the staircases. We did appreciate the bottle of wine waiting for us in our room along with the water in the fridge. We had a room for 3 people and we did have separate bedrooms which was nice. The service was okay and friendly. The hotel is very centrally located and you can walk anywhere - so that was nice. But all in all, I was underwhelmed.
