“Great stay in hotel Casa 1800”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and everything was great. Good location right in the centre of Seville, only few steps from cathedral, shopping area and restaurants. Great and helpful staff - Eva and Irene were always there to help us with our questions.
We recommend this hotel everyone who wants to spent great holiday.

1. Location Location Location: 50 feet from the cathedral, Alcazhar, restaurants and bars flowing all around.
2. Fantastic rooms- atmosphere, spacious, clean, comfortable. Beds so big you have to text your wife to call her. And if the noise outside is too much, close the shutters and draw the curtains.
3. Knowledgeable helpful staff.
4. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea in a lovely central courtyard.
5. Parking- dont drive. You can't in Seville. If you must, park in the nearby carpark at Jocaral. there is a taxi rank ouside the hotel.
6. The terrace is a lovely place to spend an evening- we missed the opportunity as it rained. Views are spectacular.
7. Do drink orange juice in Seville. Its real.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the back rooms if you want a quieter stay.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel for a city break. It scores highly on quality, service and its central location. Somed reviewers have said it was noisy but we didn't notice it. Anyway, when you stay in a city centre it's not goiung to be quiet! If you want this, stay in a village!!
I am a very difficult person to please, and even I could find no fault with this hotel. We had a ground floor room which even had its own private walled garden!!
I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody. It's not the cheapest but is probably the best.
I have stayed in many hotels on business before and this ranks amoungst the best even against the many hotels I have stayed in.
Book and enjoy!!

Room Tip: Don't worry about getting a room with a view of the cathedral, as the hotel's top floor terr...

We can't say enough about this hotel's rooms, staff, atmosphere and location. But I should emphasize that the location is great as long as you are not trying to get there in your own vehicle.
Seville is a not a small town - it has more than 700,000 residents and plenty of excellent highways. But as is the case in many historic Spanish cities, the historic areas of Seville are full of beautiful, but narrow roads; many of them closed to automobiles and others converted to one-way streets. So get rid of your vehicle if you are staying at the Casa 1800 - you probably don't need it anyway.
The hotel is a small former palace built in 1864, with about 10 rooms per floor and four floors. It has a beautiful old functioning wood elevator, as well as modern lifts. Each room has a different design and each is spectacular. Our room had very nice furnture, a chandalier, elegant draps and linens and a small closet in the wall. The room was not spacious, but it was impressive.
The front lobby leads to a relaxing seating area that seems to have a constant but light flow of visitors. There is a small food and beverage room off of that relaxing room, and the hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea, water, soft drinks, snacks, fruit and sandwiches. We enjoyed visiting that room and meeting some of the other hotel guests, including some of our friends from the US who coincidentally were staying there at the same time.
The staff was very helpful and attentive, and are good sources for directions and restaurant recommendations.
Seville's massive cathedral - the world's third largest - is just a block away. There is also plenty of shopping on the streets adjacent to the hotel. Wear good walking shoes because some streets have cobblestones and can make for rougher walking. Almost all of the city's historic sites and its more modern Metropol Parasol are within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Standard rooms at this hotel cost about 158 Euros per night, or about $209. This includes a free continental breakfast and the free food and beverage offerings during the day.
Overall it was one of the most enjoyable and memorable places we have ever stayed.
