We went to Sevilla to visit the markets and my wife mentioned how she ate at this place years ago and really liked it so we stopped in. We got super simple traditional Spanish dishes and they were all delicious. A lot of restaurants in Sevilla try to hard on the simple Spanish dishes and this restaurant doesn't and it is delicious. We had spinach with garbanzos, artichokes, and couscous with scorpion fish. Our friend wanted to try something alittle different so she also ordered the tuna tataki. The tuna wasn't as fresh as it could be but it was seasoned and seared very well and the wasabi Ali Oli they pair it with was great. I would say if you visit this restaurant, stick to the traditional dishes and you won't be disappointed.

After 20 days od travelling across Spain and Portugal and eating at different tripadvisor recommended places with at least a score of 4.5, we accidentally came across Bar Ambigu on our last night, and decided to give it a chance. What an amazing place! It was certainly the best choice we had made in 20 days. They have an English menu, but the daily tapas are written on a board in Spanish. Since we cannot speak Spanish, we asked the waitress if she could bring us 4 tapas of her choice. What we got were huge portions of the most delicious food we have tried in weeks. Well, when we asked for the bill, we tried to guess how much it is going to be. We missed by half! Seriously! Paid half of what we were thinking we are going to pay. And the food was so so so good. Highly recommending this place. It is worth flying to Seville to eat here and go back to wherever you came from!

We were walking past, happened to glance at the menu and noticed that they had quite a few things which looked like they were - or could be - vegetarian friendly. So we popped in and found a fairly standard menu on the table, but an extensive, varied and original one on a chalkboard on the wall. We had a few lovely tapas including asparagus with tomato sauce and some fantastic grilled mushrooms.

Calle Feria is one of those Sevilla streets that all visitors should walk but most do not. While out of the central tourist area it has some a great market, leads to the Macarena barrio, and has some very good local bars. Bar Ambigu is one of them.

You could easily walk by this place: outdoor seating is almost in Calle Feria which is quite narrow and it is very unpretentious, But the food is great, service is good, and the ambience makes you feel at home very quickly. We had different guisos on two visits and they were excellent. The value was amazing .... the menu del dia for 7 euros gave us more than we could eat.

Strongly recommend this place.

first visit in a while - it was good to know things were up to standard. Ambigú is a very traditional looking bar, with a few surprises up it culinary sleeve. This time - as a group of six - we had a number o fdishes - very good carpaccio of tuna, a couple of tapas of cod au gratin, and some John Dory to name but a few, together with ample red wine. As always, after eating and drinking our fill, the bill is a pleasant surprise.
